We shouldn't have to keep doing this.  It's also unacceptable that we have been met with a wall of silence from the dev(s) about this long-standing issue!

Thanks.  Still have the same issue with updating - can only assume the app is dead.  It's a shame the dev(s) doesn't come on here to let people know either way though.
