1 checkbox for trailers that are for the film(s)/ TV Series that are contained on the dvd or box set.

Another checkbox called 'Other Trailers' that would be checked for trailers/previews for films/ TV series that aren't contained on the dvd or set.

This way you can easily see what DVDs have trailers for the film contained on the dvd without having to look at the trailers on the dvd itself. Since it seems like a growing trend to not include the same films trailer on it's own dvd.

Right now the checkbox applies to all trailers regardless if they are for the film/tv series contained on the dvd/set or not.

Good idea. I think it's misleading when seeing a profile has a trailer, but it isn't for the actual movie.
I would also appreciate a place to list which other movies/shows the trailers are for. Some movie studios like Buena Vista don't include the pertinent trailers on the appropriate discs, but put them on other discs, as a form of cross-promotion.

So, you're basically asking for the other trailers to be a list containing several lines like the studio's section, but with fields that you can enter text into... basically like this..

Tralier(s) (Check Box)

Other Trailer(s) (Listing)
-Cars
-Ratatouille
-Dejavu

Question is, how many trailers would we need text locations to enter? What is the most amount of trailers that have been contained on one disc?

Are we also going to ask for a box to check as to what disc of a two disc set the trailers are contained on?

This corresponds with a solution that has been recommended sometime ago to allow us to better define what the contents of a the Bonus material (of any kind) are. As opposed to the generic system currently used. A checkbox simply for Other trailers is not really very useful, we are simply awaiting for the full solution to be implemented...at some point...on some Monday...someday.

pplchamp, I was thinking a single line like other features had, called "Other Trailers" and would have a string like "Cars, Ratatouille, Dejavu" - but what length would be sufficient for 'most' releases -- 255 characters?

I would suggest simply to put them in local notes, but I think extra trailers would be something which would be of benefit to all who access the global database.

It's tricky, because we don't want to keep adding new fields to the database, which has an exponential effect.

Going to use a Behind Eneny Lines (Blu-ray) to see what characters we would be talking about (only because I watched it last night).

Contains a trailer for Behind Enemy Lines
Other trailers:

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Kiss of the Dragon, Fantastic Four, Speed, Phone Booth (93 characters) (or 5 text box lines)

Just for kicks, I popped in Pirates: At World's End (Blu-ray)

Disc 1 has no trailer menu, but has the folllowing play before the menu loads..

National Treasure: Book of Secrets, The Game Plan, Cars (55 characters) (or 3 text slots)

Disc 2 has no trailers

I don't have it myself... but a friend of mine was telling me she had a low budget horror movie from Full Moon Pictures that had no less then 25 trailers on the disc.

Addicted2DVD, I was thinking about that one. I have the "Full Moon Pictures 45 Title Trailer Reel" in my collection and thankfully, the trailers are listed on the back cover overview.

I support the checkbox.  Still thinking about listing them, but it would be neat to be able to find a trailer I remember seeing on some disc.  So I'd probably give that a yes as well.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

I don't believe Ken has given any public indication that this is something he's working on or even considering; therefore, I support the suggestion in this thread. Of course, if Ken implements full descriptions of all features and their participants, that would be huge.  Not unwelcome, but just huge.

Image had a couple of early DVDs that were double sided (DVD10) with the second side full of trailers.
