| Posted: | | | | First, let me say a big THANK YOU!!! for updating the countries of origin and giving us so many more!!
However, there are a couple things to bring to attention:
- Dominican Republic is currently spelled Domican Republic - Shouldn't "Former Soviet Union" simply read "Soviet Union"? - We also need Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and East Germany | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | I love the additional country options! One glitch I've noticed - I've tried updating some of my discs to Yugoslavia, and when I close the edit window, the country turns to Tajikistan rather than Yugoslavia. Anyone else experience this? |

Typo(?) in coo.xod <COO ID="259" Desc="Tajikistan" /> <COO ID="259" Desc="Yugoslavia" /> Me thinks those numbers oughtn't to be the same. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

| Posted: | | | | Ken,
Really appreciate the historical CoO's - something I've been wanting for a long time!
As you are in typo-fixing mode today, you may want to update localities.xod as well? Russia is listed as DVD region 6. It should be 5.
Thanks! | | | Last edited: by Exiled |

Not forgetting West Germany too. There were a number of co-productions between the UK and the FRG back in the day. I think the argument here is that "Germany" covers all historic Germanys back to the beginning of movie making and we just need "East Germany" because there were two Germanys at the same time. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

Though it could equally be argued that "'Germany' covers all historic Germanys back to the beginning of movie making and we just need "West Germany" because there were two Germanys at the same time. Personally, I'd still favour a separate West Germany too, simply because that is how it is credited at the end of the film. |

It would be easier to use the correct names for this states which are Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesrepublik Deutschland) and German Democratic Republic (Deutsche Demokratische Republik, or DDR) - there's never been West and East Germany. On the other hand we may need Weimar Republic (Weimarer Republik) and Third Reich (Drittes Reich) then as well - I don't know if there are any DVDs / BluRays out there with movies from this time. | | | |
