That's because the image-only comparison doesn't use the skin at all. Just like DVD Profiler's default image-only comparison, PCP uses an internal template for that. Localization support is only available for the main comparison skin, not for internal templates, dialog boxes, or error messages. | | | Matthias |

Do you have any addtional info on this? Maybe from the event log? I have tested the Plugin on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista (Ultimate) without any problems. Nothing in the event logs as far as I can see. Sorry... I'm experiencing the exact same bug with the latest beta. | | | - Jan |

| Posted: | | | | Ah, I'm using a launcher too, "Launchy", the most popular one afaik so that might explain it. Not going to give it another try though as I read about the not-lifetime fee after wards and that kills your plug-in for me, sorry (Did you talk to Ken about your fee? You're essentially making money of his work with a different license, not sure if that's okay with him) | | | - Jan |

You list your collection as having over 700 DVDs each of which cost €10 or more, but €10 is too much to spend on this plugin? Quote: (Did you talk to Ken about your fee? You're essentially making money of his work with a different license, not sure if that's okay with him) At this point if Ken did not approve we would have seen a post from him or he would have asked Matthias to edit/remove this thread. I would think that the real thing that Ken needs to do is to find a way to charge me €10 more. He needs to add a new service or a higher level of options so that he can charge me again! pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |

I have spent less than 3.500€ on my collection, so your estimate is a little off. But it's not useful to compare the costs to the overall cost. That way you'd have to buy every little extra with your new car because "compared to the overall cost it doesn't matter". No, you buy things on a cost-benefit equation. And for me, the slight advantage this tool offers is not worth 10€ per undefined time frame(!). As always ymmv. | | | - Jan | | | Last edited: by hydr0x |

| Posted: | | | | Well for me that 10 euros is nothing and I wouldn't want to work without this plugin. I just wish the programmer would put more effort in the translatability, but the same thing could be said for Ken. I guess I just have to live with that. | | | Martin Zuidervliet

I respect your right to spend your money as you see fit. For me it was well worth the money. And for the record, my German car (VW Passat) came with all the options. pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |

I had a PM exchange with GSyren and we found the reason for his problem. It was caused by a program called TurboLaunch that he used to start DVDProfiler. If he started DVDProfiler via normal Windows means, all was fine. On Vista, the program TurboLaunch causes unauthorized modifications of the programs and DLLs it loads. Same happens with some other utilities too. For example I use AutoHotkey, and I can't use it's Run command to start DVD Profiler directly if I have registered version of PCP (no problem's with unregistered version). I have to use this trick to get it work: Run, "c:\windows\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe" "[System.Diagnostics.Process]::Start('C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler\dvdpro.exe')",,Hide Simply using: Run, "C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler\dvdpro.exe" does not work. I did not found other solution than starting PowerShell to launch DVDP. Also DVD Profiler's setup program launches DVDP and it fails to start with PCP. Actually it corrupted my database when I first installed 3.51 beta. |

If you have made a donation for Profile Comparison Plus in the past, you can request a free registration key. To do so, send me a PM stating the email address used to make the donation and your PCP User ID as shown in the Profile Comparison Plus Registration window. I made a donation in the past but I paid the fee for the new version anyway. I think it's absolutely well deserved. Not only PCP is most useful and I used it a lot, but Matthias ("goodguy") also gave us a bunch of other fine tools for free: Name Variants, Navigation History, Credits Plus, Credits Editor and so on. Just my 2 cents. EDIT:...well, actually... just my 10 euros | | | -- Enry | | | Last edited: by White Pongo, Jr. |

I have the same problem as GSyren with Windows Vista Business when starting DVDP. However, I'm not using any launcher, just plain Windows methods to start DVDP. For me re-installing Profiler didn't help. After un-installing PCP, Profiler works again. Any ideas? |

Until Matthias finds a real solution, try launching DVDP as administrator. If you don't want to see UAC prompt, install Norton UAC Tool which remembers which programs you always want to run as admin. |
