A word of advice, if you are willing to listen to it and take it as such. I would not use "Greenie for you!" evemn though that is a positive, I would only use the thumbs up and . Why because if that is OK to post then so is the corollary, and the corollary is instigation very clearly. I never reveal, publicly, whether I am throwing green or a red....ummm maybe I did recently in anger, but I shouldn't have. I do believe that some users act in unison, Taro, positively or negatively. I hope I was clear in what I was trying to explain. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

--------------- What? Why would the corollary automatically be okay? Are we taking the position it's not okay to complement people because then it would also be okay to insult them? |

Did I suggest outlawing it, James. I don't believe that i did. I was suggesting a behavior that I thik is advisable for all of us to follow. Ask yourself this question James, when you indicate that you are giving a user a red arrow, what is your motive, is not simply the thumbs down indicator sufficient to indicate your displeasure. Are you including "red arrow for you" to instigate others to do likewise. That si why i think with perhaps a lone exception, you will not see me indicate anything other than a like or dislike, I will not publicly state whether or not I actually threw an arrow of any kind. And my use of or is in no way indicative of such a vote. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | Not all greenies are given out over disagreements, though. Besides, this also goes back to the root problem. Disagreements over issues are not the same as personal attacks or fights. Saying you agree with one person engaged in a debate isn't attacking whoever they are debating.
If Flip says grammar is normative, Jack says it's descriptive and explains his reasoning and Floppy and Zip say they are giving greenies to to Jack, this isn't ganging up on Flip.
For the love of God, we aren't going to agree on everything. The root problem is that some members need to learn to disagree like adults. | | | Last edited: by Ace_of_Sevens |

| Posted: | | | | Good grief. This is getting even more ridiculous.
Agreeing with one person is not an attack on someone with a different view point. It is just a different opinion. A compliment to one person is not an automatic insult or attack to another person. | | | |
