| Posted: | | | | Wow. I wasn't expecting an update in a matter of hours! Awesome work as usual MD. I'm on a training course the next couple of weeks so I won't be adding any episodes 'till I've finished but I'll give you some feedback when I do. |

| Posted: | | | | Hi, new here and trying to bulk edit the purchase date on all my DVDs entered so far. As I'm just entering old DVDs to this prog the last week or so, I'd like to change the purchase date to something other than the date i am now entering, maybe something a year or so ago but dont want to it manually. Can you do this with the bulkedit plugin? |

There is no need for BulkEdit in this case, as tags can be edited en masse quite nicley with DVD Profiler. First flag the profiles you want to work on, then Collection\Flagged\Edit Tags to change the tag settings for them all. The tag can then be removed from the database once there are no profiles using it. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! If you ever plan to use BulkEdit again, and you don't want that tag set, go to the Tools\View Plugins\BulkEdit\Options and you can select an option to not use the tags. That should persist across sessions and new installations of BulkEdit,so if you do it now, you shouldn't be bothered with that Edited tag in the future. | | | Thanks for your support. The MyTools toolbar will be used by all my plugins in the future. I just refreshed V1.24 on my website. Don't know how it happened, but the V1.24 I'm using at home was a couple of weeks newer than the website version. I hope that means that there are misc bug fixes that solve some of the reported issues with loading this plugin. Sometimes I fix bugs and forget to change the version number. Anyway, now you have available exactly what I use myself. Edit: Oh, now I remember one late change was to compile with the Net 2.0 option instead of Net 3.5. The new compiler had defaulted to Net 3.5 without my realizing it, and that might have caused the problems. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Hi,
Love this plugin - it saved me a lot of time when converting my database from a 'Rivals' product. However I tried to use it again to import a couple more from it and I get an error message everytime.
Thinking it could be that profile I tried with my current dvdprofiler xml file and I get the same error. I have uninstlled / reinstalled both the plugin and dvdprofiler and the same error happens.
[i]See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Any ideas? |

| Posted: | | | | If you really think it was a specific XML file, then if you can send it to me, I can test with it. I will send you a PM. Uusally an error like this is either a special character that the program is not expecting, or a blank field that I did not program for.

Thanks for that - I will PM you it a little. I tried exporting a xml file from dvdprofiler and I got a similar error - I will include the full one in the PM. Quote:

| Posted: | | | | Hang on. I thought you got the error when importing XML from another (competitive) program using BulkEdit. Please, I need to be exactly clear on the scenario, and the original source of the XML file. There are only specific formats that I support. If you have edited the XML, it would be unfair not to reveal that information, and potentially a huge waste of my time. I hope you will respect that. Using Excel to edit the XML can cause serious problems due to the conversion of numeric strings to eponential format (e.g. the profile ID / UPC gets corrupted). My instructions for using BulkEdit specifically warn against this.Thanks. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! If I had then I would've put it down to me being a numpty and tired again. I have tried importing from the competitors application and also from dvdprofiler - with exactly the same reslts. |
