But this one not so much. Don't get me wrong... it isn't a bad movie. But it is my least favorite to memory at this time. I just found I didn't care much for any of the characters. I also felt that the story... especially in the beginning... moved a bit on the slow side. And it probably didn't help much that I wasn't really familiar with any of the cast other then Chris Evans. Though I do admit... I probably should give this one another chance as I didn't give it all the attention it deserved. It wasn't long into it before I found myself playing solitaire on the computer while watching it. But at the very least I got the main jist of the movie. My Rating: 3/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Widescreen 2.40:1, Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.0, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English, French Stars:Brittany Murphy as Stacy Holly Hunter as Barb Kathy Bates (1948) as Kippie Kann Ron Livingston as Derek Julianne Nicholson as Joyce Stephen Tobolowsky as Carl Plot:Brittany Murphy will capture your heart in this wickedly funny film about a really nice girl who's a disaster waiting to happen. Hired to work on a tabloid TV show, Stacy Holt's life gets turned upside down when she is persuaded to explore one of the show's themes, and snoops through her boyfriend's Palm Handheld. But she's forgetting one thing: in the world of daytime TV, there's always a shocking surprise in store—and she's about to get a big one! Extras:Scene Access Bonus Trailers Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I just finished watching this one. And I enjoyed it quite a bit. It is a romantic comedy so I went into it figuring how it would end... just had to watch the journey. But no... not this time. It actually throws a bit of a curve ball and goes with the unexpected. This movie stars Brittany Murphy... I have now seen a few of her movies and I must say.... I am starting to become a fan. It is a shame she passed away at such a young age. This one has an entertaining storyline. It seemed to go by rather quickly... always a good sign when watching a movie. I liked Kathy Bates as the Talk Show host. Holly Hunter was good too... though the voice she was using for this role was a little on the weird side. Definitely worth watching... glad I have it in my collection... thanks to a generous friend that gave it to me! My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1, Pan & Scan 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars:Ashton Kutcher as Tom Brittany Murphy as Sarah Christian Kane as Peter Prentis David Moscow as Kyle Monét Mazur as Lauren David Rasche as Mr. McNerney Plot:Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy take the cake in this outrageous hit comedy! Sarah (Murphy) is a happy-go-lucky rich girl whose meddling family is as snobbish as it is wealthy. Tom (Kutcher) is a hope-I-get-lucky party guy who prefers sports bars over fancy cars. But opposites attract sidesplitting fun when these two young newlyweds embark on their perfectly-planned European honeymoon with disastrous – and hilarious results! Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: After watching Little Black Book I felt like another Romantic Comedy with Brittany Murphy. So I grabbed this one. Though I did go into it a little hesitantly as I never was much of a fan of Ashton Kutcher. But over-all I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Some of the comedy I found to be laugh-out-loud funny... but at the same time some of it just didn't work for me. I particularly didn't like the childless and tasteless fart humor. But over-all the movie won me over. Though I personally didn't care for it quite as much as I did Little Black Book. But it is one I can easily see myself watching again. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars:Debra Messing as Kat Ellis Dermot Mulroney as Nick Mercer Amy Adams as Amy Jack Davenport as Edward Fletcher-Wooten Sarah Parish as TJ Jeremy Sheffield as Jeffrey Plot:Debra Messing (TV's Will & Grace) shines in this hilarious romantic comedy about the surprising road to finding true love. Kat Ellis (Messing) is determined to attend her younger sister's wedding with a date. Rather than face the ridicule of her family and in order to show up her ex-fiancé, she resorts to the Yellow Pages to find a last-minute escort, Nick (Dermot Mulroney, My Best Friend's Wedding). His dashing good looks and quick-witted charm may win over her family. But will they win over Kat? Filled with unexpected twists and endless laughs, The Wedding Date is the one date that you'll want to keep! Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes My Thoughts: After the last couple movies I found myself in a romantic comedy mood... so decided to check this one out. And I am glad I did... as I enjoyed every moment of it. Though going by reviews I read for this one online... I am once again one of the few that did. So you may want to take that into consideration. Debra Messing looked fantastic... though I have always had a thing for redheads anyway. Basically this film is the opposite of Pretty Woman where the woman hired a male escort and then fell in love. But the story kept my interest through-out... and went by very quickly for me. I can easily see myself enjoying this one again at some point in the not to distant future. This DVD... as well as the last two I reviewed was given to me from a very generous friend. So once again I can thank her for sending me a film I thoroughly enjoyed. My Rating:/ | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: None Stars:Miranda Bailey as Lisa Belmont David Carradine as Mr. Wise Jeremy Sisto as Christian Erik Palladino as David Bianca Lawson as Kate Oz Perkins as Johnny Plot:Six friends on a road trip gone wrong. A sleepy, creepy Texas town. A sinister inn with murder on the menu. And an army of the undead who can only be stopped by decapitation or chainsaw. If you think you've seen it all before, you're DEAD wrong! Erik Palladino (ER, U-571), Ever Carradine (ONCE AND AGAIN), Jeremy Sisto (WRONG TURN, SIX FEET UNDER) and Gina Phillips (JEEPERS CREEPERS) star in the action-packed, blood-drenched horror/comedy that takes the genre to outrageous new extremes! Diedrich Bader (THE DREW CAREY SHOW), Portia de Rossi (ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT) and David Carradine (KILL BILL) co-star in this acclaimed independent hit that Fangoria Magazine calls "slapstick and horrifying...a mix of ghouls, giggles and gore!" Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Gallery Outtakes/Bloopers Closed Captioned additional music My Thoughts: I felt like a bit of a change in pace now... so decided to go with some horror. This is a movie I never even heard of before a friend gave me the DVD. But of course I am always happy to try out some new horror. Unfortunately I didn't pick a very good one to start with. I realize this is listed as a comedy horror...but I would say I got maybe one half way decent chuckle out of the entire film. The comedy was more stupid then anything. As for the horror... there is plenty of blood and a bit of gore... but the gore is more comedic so less realistic. The storyline, while decent, was basically ruined with the way it went to comic book drawings of the movie between scenes and the awful music they insisted on playing through-out the movie. A music style that could only be described as a mixture of country and rap. With that said... there was a few good scenes mixed within all the non-sense that kept me somewhat interested. While I may give this one another chance at some point it isn't one I see myself watching very often at all. So no... it is not one I would recommend. My Rating: 2/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Portuguese: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Thai: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: Chinese, English, French, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai Stars:David Chokachi as Russo Michael Jace as Martinez Pollyanna McIntosh as Katya Martin Papazian as Downey Melissa De Sousa as O'Neal Tomas Arana as Doctor Plot:Time: Present Day. The Place: Russia. The mission: To track down and capture fanatical weapons specialist Dr. Walsh hiding in a research facility deep in the notorious Belzan forest of Chechnya. Specially trained and armed, an elite unit of soldiers is combing through the endless forest looking to bring their target to justice. But what they're about to find is an enemy they're not prepared to fight - genetically altered vampire bats programmed to feast on human flesh and blood - in this horrifying action thriller. Extras:Scene Access Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I enjoyed the first one... so thought I would give this sequel a chance. I picked up this DVD at Big Lots for $3.00 back in October of 2010 and am just now getting around to watching it. After watching the trailer my hopes wasn't up that high that it would be as good as the first one. And it wasn't as good as the first. But I was still able to enjoy it. It was definitely worth the money I paid. Though still not what I would call a great horror movie. I don't really care for the direction it went using the military as a main storyline. It felt like they wanted to do something similar to Dog Soldiers... but they weren't able to pull it off. My Rating: 3/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:Ryan Reynolds as Narrator (Voice) Neal Adams Kyle Baker Karen Berger Mike Carlin Dan Didio Plot:This original DC COMICS documentary is the first of its kind: a compelling look at the company that created the modern super hero, produced with unprecedented access to the archives of Warner Bros. and DC Comics. Extras:None My Thoughts: This morning I felt like watching something to do with superheroes... but something I never seen before. So I pulled out this documentary. It concentrates mostly on the comics... but it also touches on both the movies and television series. I enjoyed this documentary quite a bit... as it touched on some things I never knew before. I never was much of a big reader of comic books... but I seen several I would like to check out in this documentary. At an hour and a half it is a pretty long documentary as well. I would recommend this one for any comic book fan. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: Spanish Stars:Jenna Dewan as Tamara Riley Katie Stuart as Chloe Chad Faust as Jesse Bryan Clark as Shawn Melissa Elias as Kisha Gil Hacohen as Patrick Plot:Tamara is not the most popular girl in school. Mousy and quiet, she is picked on constantly. When her classmates play a practical joke that goes awry and results in her death, the once-homely teenager comes back from the dead as a sexy seductress to exact revenge on her killers...one by torturous one. Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I just finished watching this title. I enjoyed it more then I thought I would considering it is in a set with 3 other movies... a set that I got so cheap. I enjoyed the storyline... liked the characters... and also liked the way they did the blood/gore. It was there without being over done. The way it ended was done well also. It left itself open for a sequel.... hopefully one will pop up as I would watch it. I am not sure I agree with this one being rated R... I seen similar movies (content wise) to this rated PG-13. I guess it just barely made an R rating. I can see myself watching this one again. I would recommend checking it out. I did have a little trouble deciding between a 3.5 and 4 rating. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars:Samantha Mumba as Jessica David Leon as Nathan Tadhg Murphy as Diggs Laurence Kinlan as Henry Sarah James as Cheryl Mark Huberman as Samson Plot:In Boy Eats Girls the horror of school takes on a whole new meaning. Forget about the threat of the classroom bully, the anxiety of the rugby field or even the dread of being spurned by the girl you fancy; when your schoolmates develop a taste for human flesh it pays to know who your friends are, and what they've been eating... Extras:Scene Access Bonus Trailers Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I decided to go ahead and watch this one next... since it was the last movie in the 4 movie set I had to watch to get it out of my unwatched pile. I ended up enjoying this one quite a bit. It turned out to be just an all-around fun movie. I liked the story... I like the characters... most of the special effects was good. Though some of it did look fake. This is a comedy horror... while some of the comedy was not the best... over all I enjoyed it. It is definitely worth checking out. It turns out the 2 movies I watched today from this set ( Tamara and Boy Eats Girl) were my favorites out of this 4 movie set. I got this set at Walmart for only $5... that is $1.25 per film... definitely worth the price if you get the chance to pick it up. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |
