As Good as It Gets Barefoot in the Park Groundhog Day Notting Hill Pride and Prejudice (1995) Always Prelude to a Kiss The Ghost and Mrs. Muir Jane Eyre (1973) Only the Lonely
We have seen all of the above more than just a couple of times. Highly recommend all of them. | | | Graham |

| Posted: | | | | I liked Only the Lonely with John Candy, Maureen O'Hara and Anthony Quinn.. This film was a comeback film for Maureen as she hadn't done any mainstream films since the late sixties.. And what a treat it was to see her and Quinn together. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Brokeback Mountain
There I did it. And BTW, it's more of a "gut wrenching, heart breaking love story" than a "romantic" movie. | | | Attracted to "svelte buoyant waterfowl". | | | Last edited: by Opus T. Penguin |

Ok, now that we're in the territory, how about: Boys On The Side - both the message and music are touching, and a lot of good performances. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | No love for It Happened One Night? For shame, people. For shame.
My nine picks for joint second place would be: Shaun of the Dead (A romantic comedy with zombies!) Love, Actually (10 rom-coms all rolled into one) Moulin Rouge (If only because it has two straight guys singing "Like a Virgin" as a duet, and making it sound like that's exactly what it was meant to be)
The Iron Giant (A love story between a boy and his robot) Metropolis (An actual love story between a boy and a robot) Roman Holiday (Way more romantic than Breakfast at Tiffanies) Logan's Run (According to Ross Geller, "the sexiest movie ever". And you know what? He's right.) The Trouble with Harry (Hitchcock's least Hitchcockian movie) The Princess Bride (Yes, it's obvious, but there you go) City Lights (Charlie Chaplain woos a blind girl)
(edited to replace the joke entry with a serious one) | | | Last edited: by wintermute115 |
