What about http://www.amazon.com/Cid-Two-Disc-Deluxe-Miriam-Collection/dp/B000WMFZMY/ref=pd_sim_d_1 and any of the movies mentioned in the Customers who bought this item also bought section? | | | http://www.invelos.com/dvdcollection.aspx/The%20Chosen%20One |

| Posted: | | | | I have seen some pretty good movies listed. I did enjoy Excalibur. Dragonheart, Timeline and Ladyhawk are pretty good for Medieval/Fantasy. If you like Shakespeare, Kenneth Branagh's Henry V and Hamlet. Finally the Kingdom of Heaven was a pretty good movie. |

| Posted: | | | | I always thought medieval was post-Roman to pre-Renaissance. (Wikipedia basically agrees). Ladyhawke and Henry V (both versions) are good choices, i should have thought of those. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

Hmm...I guess I read something wrong....by most accounts it started around the year 800 I believe, so Spartacus is definitely out! | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | A definition I have found is as follows: -
Medieval = of, in the style of , or relating to the Middle Ages.
Middle Ages = (European History) 1. Broadly - the period from the end of classical antiquity (or the deposition of the last Roman emporer in 476 A.D. to the Italian Rennaissance (or the fall of Constantinople in 1453). 2. Narrowly - the period from about 1000 A.D. to the 15th century.
Occasionally known as 'The Dark Ages.'
That cuts out anything to do with Romans then (e.g. Spartacus). Knights in armour qualify, as do numerous serfs, peasants and bad actors. |

| Posted: | | | | One of the greatest medieval movies is The Seventh Seal, though it really doesn't have much in the way of battle sequences. When I saw the term medieval, I flashed on the BBC comedy series "The Black Adder." |

| Posted: | | | | Seventh Seal - excellent choice! Interesting, Bergman did not have that much regard for it later in his career. I believe he said there was little preparation and the script was written quickly. It's still great in my view. |
