Not often. Reality is much more scary than fiction. Monsters or the super natural haven't scared me since I was a kid. But humans can be scary. Because then it gets a bit closer to reality.

I was terrified by Poltergeist when I saw it as a kid.

I haven't watched a horror film that scared me.  Of course, I'm very picky about my horror. 

When I was a kid, maybe 5 or 6, my sister would watch scary movies (she was 8 years older) and let me watch with her. She would tell me to cover my eyes and that she would let me know when the scary bits were over. Well, being my sister, she would have me open my eyes at the money shot. Since then, I have hated horror movies. I get jumpy and hate watching true horror. It's not like I get nightmares or think it's real, but just don't watch it. For some reason, b-movie horror is fun for me, ie Bruce Campbell movies like Bubba Ho-tep. But give me Aliens, Exorcist, anything like that-nope, won't watch.

Love Halloween though! Been watching a lot of Halloween movies/shows.

Define Scare You..?

is it the:  you jump out out of your skin scared ..?  or is it the hair on the back of your neck gets very stiff and your senses are very aware off this ,, /  or is it you leave or turn off the TV  as it is too troublesome to your psyche?  or is it didn't bother me now  but have have nightmares for days .. about this sight I witnessed..

I personally haven't felt any of these feelings today because I know the camera angles and tricks so am well prepared  .  but in my youth  I could not for days on end forget all the frightful scenes I witnessed  in a B/W movie that was ( up to the point in cinema) never achieved in Motion Picture history and for only a small amount of revenue to achieve this shock .. .. 

it took me years to finally watch the whole movie  without being Scared to Death  - in all categories I mentioned above ...

Even jump scares I mostly see coming ahead of time, just seen to many of them to not see the sign of one coming up.

My very first was The Shining.

For the first time in years... the other night I actually freaked out a little over something I watched on TV! 

Actually... it isn't so much what I watched... but what it reminded me of.

The other day I went on On-Demand... and was just looking around all the menus... one of the things I found was screensavers for your TV screen. And they had a whole bunch there for Halloween. I noticed one of them said vampires. The description said something like... Watch as vampires appear on the screen... looking at you through the TV screen!

Something inside me made me want to see it. While watching it... it freaked me out a bit because I remembered an old recurring dream I used to have as a kid. A dream that felt so real to me at the time.


The dream I had was that vampires were real... and of course there was the rule that a vampire can't enter your home without being invited. But what they could do... is look into our windows. And my dream was of me laying in bed... scared to death... not being able to look away as vampires one at a time came to my window staring at me laying there. Not saying a word... just staring into the window... looking freaky... standing there for a moment then leaving. Different vampires one after the other... all night long.

Weird how it works sometimes!
