I finally found the problem and was able to fix it, even if it took some time.
Despite the global rule preventing banners from being shown on the desktop for DVDs, some profiles had the banners actually switched on in the settings. I am 99% certain that only profiles that I added using the scan barcode feature prior to version 2.0 had this problem.
Setting all of those profiles to "off" manually fixed the problem.
