Well, today I've gotten the "(Not Responding)" message using DVD Profiler three times. Really annoying. And yes, I've run Database Repair.

I get that message a lot - many times a week - but it usually resolves itself without a Database Repair.

I get them often now. But it may be from adding 50-100 profiles and then removing them after original titles and produced years are corrected and contributed.

Why not use a second db? I have recently retouched all covers that have rating logos (Hate those with a vengeance!), and to replace the missing parts of the covers I downloaded all similar ones to look for candidates. But I did that on a secondary db to prevent that I accidentally screw up my main-db.

cya, Mithi

That's a good idea, thanks.

I've been getting the "(Not Responding)" thing over the last few months or so, usually if I have the Profiler program open for days at a time. I often just don't close it, as I have plenty of memory installed. Sometimes it happens within a few hours though.

But, I can't kill the Profiler program closed by any normal means. Ctrl + Alt + Delete (Task Manager) doesn't kill it. I also have a couple of small programs that can terminate running programs and processes...and they can't kill it closed either. And if I can't close it and it's not responding, I obviously can't reopen the program.

I finally just have to reboot, and then of course after I reboot it informs me that it didn't close properly and suggests a database repair. That's getting really annoying.

No other program does this...ever in my experience. The only thing strange I see is that the Profiler program runs with "UAC Virtualization"

I run Windows 7 64-Bit

Got a shut down improperly today. Right after the straight wind storm took the roof off my neighbors house behind me. My power blinked and the computer went off.

Personally, I get quite aroused knowing about the status of my BLOB data...
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

That's because he didn't use DVD Profiler.

And for the record, I opened Profiler yesterday, it froze and my computer crashed; a proper blue screen of death; some silliness about a driver power state failure.  I had to go watch a DVD to recover, and drink a whole bottle of wine.
