Now the question is, do I order the re-release of Boomerang (I already have the recalled release) in order to maintain the complete numbering scheme?
Of course you do. You can't leave a hole in the collection number. Already ordered. It will be interesting to see if it gets a new number or if they use the original. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | I am the bearer of bad news. Boomerang is the same release as before with #16 and the same cover art. Moontide and Road House don't use the same skewed cover style as all prior Fox Film Noir. Also no insert. And...are you sitting down? No spine numbers! Link to comment on Home Theater Forum. DVD Talk review of Moontide mentions the dropping of the spine numbers and the lack of insert. Also, DVD Talk review of Road House mentions the same. | Posted: | | | | These titles are available, with the exception of Boomerang I believe, in the Film Noir Collections Vol 1Vol 2 sold on Amazon.com. What is the difference between the titles being sold seperately and those included in the Film Noir Collections Vol 1 and Vol 2. Here is the list of titles included in the Film Noir Collections: Panic in the Streets House of Bamboo Street with no Name Nightmare Alley House on 92nd Street Somewhere in the Night Whirlpool The Dark Corner Kiss of Death Where the Sidewalk Ends No Way Out Fallen Angel The House on Telegraph Hill House of Strangers I Wake Up Screaming Vicki The Shock 14 Hours Black Widow Daisy Kenyon Dangerous Crossing Kansas City Confidential A Bullet for Joey The Woman in the Window | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Actually, the March releases earlier this year also do not have the "skewed" cover art, but they did have spine numbers! They did originally say that they were only releasing 24 films as part of this series, way back when. I'll keep collecting them, none-the-less. | | | Hal |

I doubt that the Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 releases are any different than the individual releases, although I don;t have them. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

I think I'll go ahead and place my order for both Volumes anyways. I love the genre and it will go well with my WB Gangster Collections. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

I can't say for certain, but I suspect that this is simply a packaging of the original releases (with spine numbers). Let us know when you get them. | | | Hal |

I'll keep collecting them, none-the-less. Alain Silver & Elizabeth Ward's "Film noir: An encyclopedic reference to the American style" (1992, 3rd ed.) lists 32 noir titles by Fox. As a result, you can probably expect a few more titles yet. | | | Last edited: by Telecine |

| Posted: | | | | I guess I'll finally get my copy of "Boomerang", DeepDiscount said it shipped, $10.48, no shipping. | Posted: | | | | Just received my Film Noir Collections Vol 1 & 2. Consists of Volumes 1-24 (less #16, Boomerang) of the Fox Film Noir Collection with Spine Numbers and 4 MGM Film Noir titles: A Bullet for Joey, Kansas City Confidential, The Stranger & The Woman in the Window. I've already got Boomerang, Roadhouse & Moontide on order. Not a bad deal either. Total averages out to be $8.14 per title . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection | | | Last edited: by Bad Father |

| Posted: | | | | Now the question: How to enter these films into my collection? I purchased them as sets, namely Film Noir Collection Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 but they really aren't box sets per se. They are just the keep cases wrapped in shrink wrap with a UPC label slapped on them. They've covered the UPC labels with blank white stickers, thankfully on the outer sleeve and not on the cover art, so I can remove those and add them individually to my collection or create two box sets. Problem though with the box set option is, what would I use as cover art? If I enter them individually I'd have to divide the total purchase price by the total DVDs and enter the result as price paid for each title. Thoughts . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Thoughts . That's exactly what I did when I recently purchased the Fox Studio Classics collection from Amazon. The way I looked at it the "set" amazon sold me was nothing more than a way of putting all the movies together in one package for one price. All separate movies for me. Each with their own profile and each with 1/40th of the cost I paid for the set (which BTW came in at $6.00 each ) |
