| Posted: | | | | Hi Mediagogg,
are you already planning to add support for custom media types in BulkEdit? |

are you already planning to add support for custom media types in BulkEdit? Absolutely! The full 3.6 upgrade will take a lot of time. I was wary of starting before things settled down. I will probably do some incremental updates if people can cut me some slack about not having it all at once. Getting the new ratings system and custom media types would be near the top, right? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! | Posted: | | | | iv been adding my game collection to dvdprofiler and i was wondering if its possible to add the “custom media type” to the selectable fields of bulkedit (i have listed PS3, PC, STEAM PC etc so i can print the icons on my custom report) what im trying to do is 1 profile for each disc so bulkedit makes it alot easier also is there a way i can copy the cover to multiple profiles in bulk edit |

| Posted: | | | | After adding Watched By date(s) this message shows on every profile I select: Fatal Error (Exception of ...)Neither a database repair nor deactivating BulkEdit and then activating it again helps, only a restart of DVDP gets rid of the error. This has been the case with DVDP 3.5.1 and older BulkEdit versions also – but without the hint at BulkEdit I've never been sure about its origin. I can send you a database backup via e-mail if necessary. WinXP Pro SP3 32-bit German DVD Profiler 3.6.1.1392 installed plugins: BulkEdit 1.31, CSV Export 2.0, Database Query 2.3, Trading Poster TG 1.0 | | | 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1.0

| Posted: | | | | Ye gads!!!! (I have no idea what that means ... I think OMG) Are you saying that you have been getting this error for a long time, and just never before indicated BulkEdit? I am using all those plugins too. Yes, you can send me a database backup. Edit: I'm lost trying to reproduce this. BulkEdit does not handle "Watched By". So I assume you must be using DVDP for that. Then afterwards, you select a profile and get the error? Can you clarify the scenario? (Just tried again. Using BE 1.31, DBQ 2.1, CSVE 2.0). Can't reproduce.
My suggestion: (1) Close DVDP (2) External Database Repair Tool (3) Open DVDP (4) Backup (5) Open New database (6) Restore (7) Backup
You should now have a totally beautiful and clean database. See if you still get the error. Good luck. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

And I just never had the time and desire to investigate its cause before Quoting mediadogg: Quote: Edit: I'm lost trying to reproduce this. BulkEdit does not handle "Watched By". Can't reproduce. 1. Add a couple of Watched By dates via Ctrl+W 2. After X added dates the error suddenly (i.e. not after a constant number of profiles) appears right after clicking on a thumbnail 3. From now on the error appears on every selected profile until I restart DVDP Quoting mediadogg: Quote: My suggestion: (1) Close DVDP (2) External Database Repair Tool (3) Open DVDP (4) Backup (5) Open New database (6) Restore (7) Backup

I suspect that your suggestion won't work, I already made a new database and restored my backup file(s) while upgrading to DVDP 3.6.1.1392. And I've done countless database repairs (and several external) since the error started. I'll send you a PM and in addition try your suggestion anyhow. | | | 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1.0

| Posted: | | | | I should note (with some chagrin) that I have been having similar issues with 3.5.1 (after editing some watched by events getting HF_CATASTROPHIC errors). It didn't seem to affect the data, but was hugely annoying, and only resolved by restarting DVDP. I also have Bulkedit loaded, but there was nothing that made me link those two things - i assumed my machine was acting up, or that Ken had an obscure bug in event processing.
I haven't seen it with 3.6.1, but I haven't had time to do any serious "work" on that version ... | | | -fred |

Actually I have a hunch along those lines. Since BulkEdit gets called whenever "DVD Changed" happens, it is possible that sometimes I am trying to access a recently edited DVD that has not yet been completely posted to the database. That's my theory. Anyway, my reasons for getting that event may be eliminated - not sure - still working on 3.6.1 updates. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Got the backup. I opened a new database, gave it a name and did a restore. Then I did a refresh from Invelos and started random Ctrl+W updates of Watched By. I did about ten of them with no errors. Not sure where to go from here. Only plugin from your list that I'm not running is Trading Poster TG. Just FYI. Also, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! | Posted: | | | | Thanks for trying. I'll try to document the steps before this happens better, perhaps a pattern becomes visible. I just tried it again after a restart, now the error doesn't show even after ~30 random Ctrl+W. I'll keep you up to date | | | 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1.0

| Posted: | | | | I think I made a misstake when I installed your last version of this great plug-in. I should probably have uninstalled the previous version, first. Now I have 2 lines saying Bulk Edit when I go to Tools -> View Plugins and both are version 1.31. The top one is uncheck while the second one is checked. How do I remove the duplicate? Come to think of it, I don't think I ever uninstalled a plugin, how exactly do I do that? Thanks |

Plugins that use an automated installation process usually have a file called unins000.exe associated with them. Even DVDProfiler has this. In my case, I make sure that file is located within the \plugins\bulkedit folder. Not all plugin authors do that, so you might find the file somewhere else, and if there is a filename conflict, the file will be named unins001.exe or unins002.exe, etc. Anyways, for BulkEdit, look in \plugins\BulkEdit and run that file, and the plugin should be deleted. Now the problem is, there may still be a registry entry for the BulkEdit under an older "GUID" because it was never deleted. The easiest way to delete the old version would be (1) uninstall 1.31. (2) Download and install an older version. (3) Immediately uninstall it using unins000.exe (no need to actually run DVDP). This should remove the older registry entry, which is causing the duplicate. DVDP remembers all plugins "forever." (4) Re-install 1.31. Let me know how that goes. If that still doesn't work, let me know. There are a couple of less fun ways to go about it. But try the easy way out first. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

Hey, no plob m8 and thanks for the info, looks like I do steps 1 through 4 later. I did a view source on a html window and I clearly have 2 GUID's there, see...
