| Posted: | | | | You can set your "Recent Period" number to lower than 7 (under side menu Identification - Customize). I use a value of "1" because I check the site daily. It will flag only the recent additions to the site with a NEW icon. | | | Last edited: by Doombear |

Quote: Actually, that's the one and only thing that's really annoying about the new site: you have to open every single picture link, then right-click the image and give it a meaningful name. Since the filenames contain a random alphanumerical string, you can't use a download manager anymore...
If I remember correctly, I've seen the Piwigo gallery with some kind of download cart system. While browsing the collection you can add pictures and whole collections to the cart and then finally download them all together.
This is what I do. I have Profiler running and the profile I want to add pictures selected. I then open the movie in Surfeur's site, click the first thumbnail, right-click the opened image and select "Copy", then right-click Profiler's Gallery window (the thumbnail part of it) and select "Paste". I then (in Surfeur's site) click the arrow for the next image and repeat the copy and paste procedure for all the remaining pics. I find this very simple and quick. No picture naming or separate savings. With this method the pics are automatically saved to the appropriate folder and 10 pics are given names from "0" to "9". It takes me 1-2 mins to have 10 pics for one movie.
Big thanks for Surfeur and everybody else involved in this new site. It's great! Hej, cool, didn't know that method. Thanks for sharing! Although, I'd like to have the movie name in the filenames, so that I can use/view the images w/o DVDP... | | | 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1.0

Quote: Good question, but why only answered in private?
In fact, I answered by Pm because a problem of understanding (I thought captkorken wanted to upload images).
For downloading images in one operation, I have not found the way to do that.
In fact, it seems that Piwigo works in two modes : physical files (via FTP) that allow each visitor to add images to existing folders (a visitor could add new screencaps to existing "King Kong" folder), and download images in one operation. The problem is that a new movie will have to become a new folder, so cannot be added without creating the folder in which the images go : we have the same problem than with old site.
The second mode, that I use, is virtual mode, where everybody, with proper rights, can create easily a new folder to add a new movie, without any tool (FTP) nor special knowledge on how Piwigo works. On this mode, photos have to be downloaded one by one. If anybody knows more about the system (I agree that I'm far to be a specialist in programming (I'm more interested by movies)), I would be happy to add another function.
But I shall not spend too much time any more on that : I share my images, and allow other users to do so. It doesn't seem that so many people are interested, the news about the site being completed having had strictly no reaction except your question. OK, I understand. So, for now that's just the way it is. I'll try to find out, if there's some kind of addon that provides batch downloading in virtual mode. If the installation can be done with reasonable effort, I'll let you know. | | | 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1.0

I hope so.
I added some new movies as Inception, Iron man 2, Robin Hood, Millenium 3, Adèle Blanc-Sec, but they are probably lost inside the big transfer update. After 7 days, transfer will no more be considered as new, and additions will be more "visible". I'm sure that's the case... just have a look at the stats at the bottom of each image page, there are definitely more people who use your site... | | | 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1.0

If the installation can be done with reasonable effort, I'll let you know. OK, easy as pie. 1) Go to the administration area, choose "Plugins" from the menu, then click "Manage". 2) Open the tab "Other plugins available" and scroll down to the bottom of the list. You should see the "Download Multi" plugin, just click on "Install" and then "OK". A green box will appear on the top of the list, stating that the plugin has been successfully copied (hopefully ). 3) Now open the tab "Plugins list", click "Install" underneath the caption Download Multi, then click "Activate". 4) Finally, you have to configure the plugin to make it work; just choose it from the menu on the left. Since the plugin is only available in French (and mine isn't as good as it used to be...), I don't know how to configure it. But I have a feeling you'll do just fine. I hope you'll give it a try... that would be great! Cheers! | | | 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1.0

Well everything worked to install the plugin, except that when you have put images in your cart, you cannot access to it. I sent a PM to Cyrille to see if there is something to do to make that work, but I'm not optimistic (I fear this works only with physical mode) | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, there's a permission problem with some of the files that came with the plugin. Most likely easy to fix. I'll keep my fingers crossed! But whatever the outcome will be, thanks for trying, it's much appreciated! | | | 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.1.0

Cyrille made what is necessary . It works, through a zip file, for registered users. Unregistered visitors cannot use it. If you download only the 10 images of a movie, you do not save much time, but if you download several movies, it can be really interesting. | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |
