| Posted: | | | | Quoting Dvdjon: Quote: My personal opinion and clearly that of AFI is that new line is the primary production company and not wingnut films. But I will vote yes for the nz so go right ahead and recintribute it if it hasent allready gone trough. Oh and someone should proparbly change the frighteners hd dvd too But according to what you said, the AFI don't look at the primary production company, they look for a significant creative/production input - that doesn't even mean majority, it could be as little as 10-20%, and they could still class that as significant. They also take into account where the cast, crew and support staff are from. Also in this case New Line aren't acting as production company, but as film studio/distributor. That's why they get the "presents" credit and Wingnut get the "a ... production" credit. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

We need a minimum of 3 (better 4). And alphabetically ordered! |

| Posted: | | | | DEFINITELY in alphabetical order. That would alleviate a lot of ping ponging over which should be first. I've argued this for genres, too, for a long, long time. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges. | Posted: | | | | Once again: if this would be implemented as a set of checkboxes like we have for Subtitles, none of this would be any problem at all. We can tick up to 32 Subtitles in alfabetical order. |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Dvdjon: Quote: it boils down to simple math... no way in hell that the very small company wingnut payed up for 80% of allmost $300 millions. sorry they made like 10 millions on frghteners. Thats why they needed new line. but who cares the only 100% correct thing is to have 2 CoO and we cant have that. So Ill yield and let you guys deside ill vote yes on nz. in short ill give up The CoO field isn't used to record who paid for the film, it's there for who made the film - that's a very different thing. But I also agree, multiple CoOs would be great! |

Ok that would make alien(and many many other movies filmed in pinewood studios) english movies as the crew in this movie is mostly english and not american. twentieth century fox after all only payed for the movie and had the producers (as new line did in lotr);-) V for vendetta is another good example. oh and Mission impossible 2 would be usa hong kong(chinese) and australian hehe. Would the lord of the rings be made without new line NO actually new line took a really big risk with these movies and it was new lines decission to make it a trilogy not a 2 parter as miramax vanted. actually they wanted 1 movie and that is why new line got it and made it a trilogy.
Anyways I have given up and said that ill vote yes next time for NZ as CoO because the most of you have pointed out that wingnut is in nz. And I have bowed for this general opinion. I just wondered why a few dvdp users has decided the movie as nz and not us when allmost everyone ive talked to list this as a hollywood movie made by PJ. Oh an d so does the american filminstitute... but you guys are rigth and all us others are wrong its as easy as that.
Multiple CoO NOW Ken with alphabetical listing !!! Perhaps you should change the CoO for the Alien Quadrilogy to UK. As far as I know, Brandywine Productions, Ltd. is a UK based company | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

No, it's got nothing to do with where the crew are from or where the filming studios are. An American company could hire an all-UK crew, but the resulting film would still get a US CoO. |

| Posted: | | | | Even if the program allowed for multiple CoOs, I can still see some of the people around here debating what countries, should/shouldn't be on the list for any given movie - but it would help reduce most of the ping-ponging. |
