Æon Flux Region 4 Released: 06.06.2006 Anamorphic 2.35:1
I loved the animated series and adore Charlize, but this is simply a lousy movie.
Runner up would be:
Ultraviolet Regions: 2, 4, 5 Released: 14.08.2006 Anamorphic 1.85:1 I kinda liked Ultraviolet (I've got the Extended Cut). Æon Flux is pretty awful BUT Charlize looks so good in it. | | | October 12th, 1985. Tonight, a comedian died in New York. |

| Posted: | | | | I generally love Japanese cinema, and Kaneto Shindo is one of my favorite Japanese Directors, but this film is the epitome of boring art-house garbage. Watching the endless repetition of this family acquiring water for their crops on the secluded island is the greatest holistic cure for insomnia. |

Reason: stupid and long.
And once I intended to buy Phase IV, but got Phase IV. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. [Ken Cole, DVD Profiler Architect] |

| Posted: | | | | Lost in Translation
I tried very hard to "get" this movie. But next to Risky Business it seems like the most immoral cinematic take on life I can recall. Like Petulia I think Lost in Translation requires that its audience needs to find something sympathetic in the main character(s) -- of which I have none. By my not caring what the characters do or say, nor what happens to them, I find I gain nothing by observing the depictions of them. I do not dislike them enough to make them interesting villains, and I certainly don't like them at all... so I find having to spend any time at all with them annoying.
So I keep the DVD as a reminder of things that I don't understand... like a few terrible albums of music I own -- I'm bewildered that anyone would spend time, effort or money creating these things. Totally outside my taste. And yet, if you scan my collection, I own (and watch and enjoy) some really bad movies -- Santo flicks, Manos, various bad Santa movies, Robot Monster, etc. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | As mentioned above I would not toss any DVD away because you can always trade them for something, more than likely for something just as bad.
With a collection as large as mine there are a number of DVDs I would not miss if they were to get lost. Maybe a hundred or so.
Some are part of of box sets like Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) and Batman and Robin (1997). It seem like series run out steam awhile.
Some are just a disappointment considering the stars involved, like Sphere.
Just some of the other losers I've managed to aquire I would lose any sleep over if they turned up missing. But I don't think any collection is adequate without a few losers:
The Crow: City of Angels (1996); Showgirls (1995)); Species II (1996); Ultraviolet (2006);
these are from box sets: The Black Hole (2006); Caroline and the Rebels (1955); Stephen King's Graveyard Shift (1990); Liberation (2004); Man in the Vault (1956); Myra Breckinridge (1970); Nature Unleashed: Earthquake (2004); Queen of Outer Space (1958); Supernova (2004);
The following were bought on one of DeepDiscount sales just out of curiosity. A couple of guys in our circuit fabrication plant were caught making boards to capture “blue” TV.
Midnight Blue Collection 1 thru 5 from the the overview: From 1975 to 2002 MIDNIGHT BLUE was late-night cable's most depraved cavalcade of politics, pornography and perversion hosted by controversial Screw Magazine publisher Al Goldstein.
Sexploitation films w/imdb ratings. But they do have their funny moments - from the overview: See the fine figures of history and lusty ladies of literature like never before with this scandalous set of seven ribald romps, courtesy of legendary exploitation cinema king David F Friedman.
The Sexy Storybook Collection: - The Adult Version of Jekyll and Hide - The Erotic Adventures of Zorro 4.7 - The Notorious Daughter of Fanny Hill 3.3 - The Head Mistress 4.0 - Sinderella and the Golden Bra 3.9 - Goldilocks Three Bares 1.7 - Trader Hornee 4.0
The Sexy Storybook Collection 2: - Dracula the Dirty Old Man 4.7 - Guess What Happened to Count Dracula 3.0 - The Secret Sex Lives of Romeo and Juliet 4.6 - The Notorious Cleopatra 4.9 - Tarz & Jane, Cheeta & Boy - Tarzun and the Valley of Lust 3.4
Elvira's Movie Macabre Collections will not win any prizes but her periodic comments are funny and she does have have her assets. from the overview: In 1981 the B-movie queen (played to perfection by Cassandra Peterson) began her campaign to bring only the very best -- and worst -- of schlock cinema to audiences. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. | Posted: | | | | Novocaine. It's one of those thrillers where the reason no one can solve their problems is they're all idiots. I got this in a two-pack with the very funny L.A. Story and it only costed about $2 more than that movie alone, but I still feel ripped off. |
