I was adding more than one title so I know it's not just title specific issue. Working now Ken! That's for the prompt fix! |

| Posted: | | | | I'm having trouble updating the database on my iPhone and iPad. Whenever I try to update, it states Login Failed. I've verifed the user name and password are correct by logging into the site on my PC. On the iPad, if I try logging into the site through a browser, it tells me cookies must be enabled (whether I use Chrome or Safari) even though cookies are already enabled. I've tried to turn cookies off then back on, but that doesn't help. To make troubleshooting even more difficult, since I started encountering this issue a couple of weeks ago (hadn't updated the database on either device for a few months, so it might have stated much earlier) it will on occasion, actually work. When it does work, I can login on both devices and update the database, so it doesn't appear to be my devices, but rather something on the website. Any ideas? |

And as an update... last night I tried logging into the website on my iPad mini and it succeeded without the cookie error. I immediately tried to update my databases on my iPad and iPhone and both worked without the login failure. So when it works, everything works, when it doesn't, logins fail on devices and I can't log into the website through the browsers on the devices. |

| Posted: | | | | I'll try again since I've gotten no responses from either thread... On iOS devices (iPhone 4S and iPad mini), the website (and I think the app) require cookies to login. I've enabled cookies for Safari... ...but I still get an error message from the website that I need to enable cookies... ...or login fails on the app. Every once in a while, login will work on the site and both iOS devices. Is this a site issue? An iOS issue? Something else? Any help would be appreciated. | | | Last edited: by lcummins |

| Posted: | | | | It might seem silly, but make sure you don't have a capital "I" in place of the lower case "L" in your user name. |

It is a lower case L and is remembered by both the website and the app so I don't have to type it in... and when anything works, they all work. |

| Posted: | | | | It seems that you are the only user affected by this problem, so highly likely that some of your settings are wrong.
Check if the error persists when switching to Opera (with default settings) as browser. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Check if the error persists when switching to Opera (with default settings) as browser. The fact that it works sometimes and not others indicates it is not my settings, they are correct. It did lead me to the solution however! It depended on which network I was connected to... if 4G, it would work; the wireless network at the office, it would not. I log into the wireless network (and the firewall) and it is supposed to allow full access, but for some reason it is blocking cookies, so that is why the cookie setting didn't matter. There are settings to not allow cookies, java, active x, and https proxies, but only if not logged into the firewall, and now they seem to be blocking even when logged in, so I will have to troubleshoot the issue. Anyway, if anyone else starts having similar issues, at least they might have a clue where to start looking. |
