Meet Inspector Jacques Clouseau, the bumbling French detective whose career is one gigantic banana peel. David Niven, Robert Wagner and Capucine co-star in the sidesplitting film that launched one of the greatest comedy series of all time!

Arriving at an Italian ski resort with a large diamond known as the Pink Panther, Princess Dala (Claudia Cardinale) encounters the suave Sir Charles (Niven), who also happens to be the notorious jewel thief The Phantom. Can Clouseau (Sellers), the clumsiest inspector ever to trip over a case, stop Sir Charles' plot...or will The Phantom steal the "cat" and leave Clouseau holding the bag?

My Thoughts:
With the 1963 'The Pink Panther' we get the brilliant joining of Peter Seller and Blake Edwards. Most definetly the best in the series, with 'A Shot in Dark' a close second, 'The Pink Panther' is riddled with sight and speach gags. Also, this movie holds up extremely well with the passing of time (almost 50 years!). It is simply a brilliant foray into the world of comedy. I enthusiastically recommend this movie for anyone who likes a laugh. 4.5of5 stars

My Rating: 4.5/5

@Piffi:
The originals are WAAAYYY better than the remakes. I fully agree the remakes are just a waste of film, but the original movies with Peter Sellers are just hilarious!

And if you find you like Peter Sellers, I can also recommend The Party.

My Thoughts:
Well, i dont know what to say about this one actually. I really liked it. And i like how they have continued the story\plot. But there was a few things in the movie that i think they could do a bit different IMO. And there was something i think they have dragged out to long. And i'm not sure if i liked the end. But i will admit that i'm looking forward to see the continuation in the second part.
And the acting was good aswell. Like to see how the actors\actresses grow with the characters.
Good story, and a very interesting ending. So i cant wait for the part 2. But a few things they could have done different IMO. But all in all. So far The Twilight Saga, is a really good journey!
And highly reccomanded so far.

My Thoughts:
This 1990 film stars Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward with co-stars Michael Gross, Reba McEntire and ( i love) Victor Wong. Rating 3of5

My Rating: 3/5

Title: Tremors 2: Aftershocks: The Franchise Collection

Plot:
They're back! The giant underground creatures that terrorized a desert town in 'Tremors' are now plowing their way through Mexican oil fields, gobbling up everything and everyone around - and only one man can stop them! In the style of its predecessor, this comedy sci-fi creature feature reunites Fred Ward as down-on-his-luck Earl Basset and Michael Gross as gung-ho survivalist Burt Gummer, two desert desperadoes who take on the task of destroying the monsters. Partnered with them is Christopher Gartin, a young guy in need of kicks, cash, and a career change, and Helen Shaver, a sexy and intrepid scientist who's seen it all...until now. Together they devise an ingenious plan for tracking and killing the creatures. 'Tremors 2' is filled with high speed action and plenty of laughs - until the predators wise up.

Extras:
Scene Access
Feature Trailers

My Thoughts:
There is a good reason that Kevin Bacon did not make the trip in this 1996 entry into the Tremors 'quadrilogy'. 'Tremors 2: Aftershocks' staring Fred Ward and Michael Gross, goes from the silly to the ridiculous pretty fast. Moving the monsters above ground and calling them Shreakers did nothing to help the movie. I still like Fred Wards character and Michael Gross does his same crazy character. See the trailer here  I would not 'recommend' this movie unless one likes corny monster movies or wants to see where the Tremors frachise is going. My rating, 2.5of5

My Rating: 2.5/5

If Burt and his new partners can't find a way to stop them, then the creatures that put Perfection on the map will wipe it right off the face of the earth. 'Tremors 3' promises earth-shaking, explosive, edge-of-your-seat entertainment!

My Thoughts:
Okay .. here we go again. in the 2001entry 'Tremors 3: Back to Perfection' we go back to Perfection, Nv (Tremors 2 was all in Mexico) to fight Graboids, Shreekers and now Flying Shreekers. Michael Gross, Tony Genaro playing Miguel and Ariana Richards are back. But Michael Gross does his best to carry the movie by bringing his character Burt Gummer to a full level of gun totting insanity. And as an added bonus we have the BLM there to protect the Graboids. I think this one is a little more fun that 'Tremors 2'. Though I wont give it a 3 i would recomment this for just a good time B monster movie. See the trailer here My rating is 2.5of5

My Rating: 2.5/5

Rating: Rated R : Strong Bloody Horror Violence, Language and a Brief Sexual Situation

Plot:
From Matt Reeves – the director of Cloverfield – comes the new vampire classic that critics are calling "chillingly real" (Scott Bowles, USA Today), "one of the best horror films of the year" (Cinematical) and "a haunting, touching and unforgettable thriller" (Pete Hammond, Boxoffice Magazine). In bleak New Mexico, a lonely, bullied boy, Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee of The Road), forms a unique bond with his mysterious new neighbor, Abby (Chloë Grace Moretz of Kick-Ass), who moves from town to town with the man who appears to be her father (Oscar® Nominee Richard Jenkins of The Visitor). But in a world of both tenderness and terror, can you invite in the one friend who may unleash the ultimate nightmare?

My Thoughts:
This is the American remake of the Swedish film 'Let the Right One In' (trailer found here) from the book by John Ajvide Lindqvist.
Although I give this a 3of5 I don't think it is as good as the original (which I gave a 4of5). But of course for the American audience to appreciate it, it would have to be an American movie and it would have to be in English.
Although Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloe Grace Moret have good chemistry their characters don't develop well.  In the book and in the Swedish version there is a bit of erotica (intended but not shown) but in this remake there is none of that.  There is also very little of the relationship between Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) and his parents and the relationship between Abby (why are all the names changed?) and 'The Father' is also barely touched upon.
The writing and directing/editing seems a little disjointed.
Having read the book, 'Let the Right One In' and seeing the original Swedish version .. this one falls a short. If you haven't seen it is, it is still a good watch .. but if you can then watch the original.
Subtitles aren't all that bad of a thing<g>

Title: Blitz
Year: 2011
Director: Elliott Lester
Rating: 15 år
Length: 97 Min.
Video: Widescreen 2.35:1
Audio: Engelsk: DTS-HD Master Audio: 5.1, Engelsk: Dolby Digital: 5.1
Subtitles: Dansk, Finsk, Norsk, Svensk

Stars:
Jason Statham (1972)
Paddy Considine
Aidan Gillen
Zawe Ashton
David Morrissey
Luke Evans

Plot:

Extras:

My Thoughts:
Well, lets just start of by saying its always fun to watch Mr. Statham in a good action movie. And this time in a british movie. Havent seen much british movies with him. So that was a bit different.
Mr.Statham plays a 'dirty' kinda cop. On the hunt for a cop killer. In lets just say his methods isnt always by the books. Wich makes it more interesting. Its a good action flick. But a bit slow at times. And some of the acting in the movie, was at the top either. Statham did a good part i think. (looks like he could do it in his sleep) It was a bit different movie then i thought. But an enjoyable movie.
A movie that i recommend for those who like a good action flick.

Don't get me wrong .. I think it is a good movie.  I just never understand why there has to be an American version of everything.  When a movie is as good as 'Let the Right One In' was maybe it should be left alone.

Of course while i typed that I thought about 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'.  Although the character of Lisbeth Salander, played by Rooney Mara physically did not match the book as well as Noomi Rapace did, I think the American version (and Rooney Mara) were very very good.  Of course for me a simple thing like keeping the names was good <G>
Swedish version of "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"
American version of "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"

I think another example would be "Insomnia".  I think the American version is every bit as good as the Swedish version.  Al Pachino can play 'walking in a daze' with the best of them and I think his and Robin Williams performances are as strong as Stellan Skarsgård and Sverre Anker Ousdal. I really liked Stellan Skarsgård in 'Good Will Hunting'.

Of course .. in this movie the Americans changed the names <G>
Swedish version of 'Insomnia'

I got what you mean. And i agree too. And when it comes to the original version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and the american version. I have to say that i loved the swedish versions (all of the movies) and the books! But i havent seen the american version yet. But i will. And i'm looking forward to that one. Heard alot of great stuff about it. And i heard Rooney Mara did her part as Lisbeth Salander just perfect! But i've heard that the american version is a bit different then the swedish version aswell.. It ends differently etc. Some of the scenes are different etc. But its a movie i'm looking forward to see.

My thoughts on remakes... let them come! It doesn't bother me in the least. It doesn't take away from the original in any way... the original is still out there for me to enjoy all the same. And I am fine with giving a new version the same chance I give any movie. Watch it... if I like it great. If I don't like it... well that is OK too. I do my best to watch every movie whether it is a remake or a sequel or a stand alone movie all the same chance to entertain me.

I just don't understand the hatred that some people have as soon as they hear something is going to be remade.

I personally dont mind a remake or a sequal. (sometimes you have to make a sequal) just look at HP etc.
And there is alot of good remakes and sequals. And i watch remakes and sequals, and enjoy some of them. But sometimes i dont see the point of making a remake. I think it might be easy to maby overdo a classic. If you take a movie like Casablanca and The Birds. (i know they are making a remake of the birds) But what is enough? 1 movie? 2 movies? even 3 movies? Dont get me wrong, there is remakes that i like better then the originals. But when is enough? How many movies? F.ex, if they would start to make a remake of the classic 'Casablanca' i dont think it would be any good. But when the remake of the birds. (the hitchcock classic)  comes out. I think it might be very good. But i would make more then the 1 remake. But thats just me.

When is enough enough? I ask why does there have to be such a thing as enough? What does it hurt by them being out there? I don't even wonder what the point is. The point is the same for every movie out there... to make money. The studios will continue to do it as long as they see a profit. And if they want to give me more choices... great. Thank You. Make all you want... I will give them the same chance as any movie made. You get sick of a certain storyline... stop watching. It hurts nothing by them being out there. And once they are out there you can always go back and watch if you change your mind.

To me it is a win win situation... they are out there if I want to watch them. If not I don't have to. And either way... whether I like the remake or not... it don't take away from the original.

So I ask Why ask why? What is the harm of them doing them?

I see your point. I do. And i have to agree that the studios are making movies for more then one thing. The biggest part is ofc to make money. And i understand, where they see they can make a dollar, they will. Ofc, i got that. Thats good buisness. But, they will want to make a good movie too, that the people will remember like "WOW" ! Did you see that movie guys?! And. More great movies they make, more money they make. But if a studio makes a sequal, or a remake. Time after time. But If what they make, are just not good enough? (i'm not saying any remakes are bad. Not at all) And if you make a remake of a classic. And the remake is a bad one. And you watch that one. And you dont like that one. But decide to give the another remake a second chance. And that one isnt good either. Then i think you say "i dont care. The three first was bad. So i dont care about the 4th one" I know that is a easy way to think sometimes. But as you said. More choises, and more movies. Is better for us the fans.
And as i said before. There is alot of good remakes. But it is so easy to overdo a good movie too.
Like the Fast & Furious franchise. For me, they overdid that one.
