Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: French Stars:Kevin Spacey Gerard Jones Forrest J Ackerman Elliot S! Maggin Mark Hamill Mark Waid Plot:From comic books to radio shows. From TV to blockbuster motion pictures. For nearly seventy years, the Man of Steel has delighted generations of fans and helped define the meaning of the word "hero." This definitive telling of the Superman saga traces the character's humble beginnings all the way up to his emergence as the world's mightiest pop culture icon. Includes rare footage, outtakes and exclusive interviews. Also includes a behind-the-scenes look and a special sneak peek at Superman Returns. No matter if you're a movie fan or just a Superman fan - this is the adventure you've been waiting for! Extras:Scene Access Bonus Trailers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is a good documentary on the Superman mythology. Starting from the very beginning of when the two 16yr old boys had their original idea for him... bringing us to pretty much current times. Covering everything from comic books to radio to television to movies. While I did like it... I could almost say it covered too much as I did start to tire of it towards the end a little. But it is enjoyable. And it was good to see some of the actors as they are now... especially the ones from the older shows. Worth watching... but don't think it is something that can be watched all that often. Unlike how I am with the movies. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

Depths of the Earth 3. The Reducer Ray 4. Man of Steel 5. A Job for Superman 6. Superman in Danger 7. Into the Electric Furnace 8. Superman to the Rescue 9. Irresistable Force 10. Between Two Fires Extras:Scene Access Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is the first time in quite a while that I watched this movie serial. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was definitely fun to watch this early incarnation of Superman. Though I must admit I am not familiar with this villain... Spider Lady. Not sure if she was one of his regular villains from the old time comics... or if they just created her for this serial. They did a good job at telling the origin story of Superman. Of course with the time that this was made they couldn't show Superman fly... so what they did was convert him to animation (cartoon) while flying. Seems a bit silly... especially by today's standards... but it was still entertaining. A fun watch. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

Extras:Scene Access Feature Trailers Production Notes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I thought I would start this weekend with one I haven't seen since I was probably in my early teens. It is hard to believe this movie was made in 1980... this movie is 30yrs old!!! Now I am starting to feel old! When I decided to pop this one in I was a little worried with how well it would hold up.And I guess rightfully so. While I still enjoyed this movie... as it was entertaining to say the least... I found I was remembering it to be funnier then it actually was. Sure there was a couple good laughs in there... but the majority of the movie was more amusing then anything else. I will have to see if I can find some more Goldie Hawn movies that were funnier. If that is possible... maybe I remember her... herself being funnier then she actually was. I found I liked the boot camp portion of the movie best... it seemed to go a bit downhill once she was out of boot camp. It is also a shame this DVD is in Full Screen only. I did a quick search at amazon (mostly out of curiosity) and it seems there is no widescreen version available. The DVD could of used some more extras as well. While I can see myself watching this one again.... it is not one I could see watching often. I decided to rate this DVD at a 3 out of five... if it was widescreen and had some more extras it would have gotten to a 3.5. My Rating: 3/5 | | | Pete |

Hilary Swank plays resilient Maggie, determined not to abandon her one dream. And Morgan Freeman is Scrap, gym caretaker and counterpoint to Dunn's crustiness. Grab your dreams and come out swinging. Million Dollar Baby is an absolute knockout. Extras:Scene Access Feature Trailers Featurettes Gallery Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I been wanting to see this movie since the first time I saw a trailer for it. Every since then I have heard nothing but good things about it. So going into this one I was hoping I wasn't letting all the hype around this one get to me. I have always liked both Clint Eastwood and Hilary Swank. And then there is of course Morgan Freeman who I think is also an amazing actor. After watching it I found this movie really has it all. Great talent... a storyline that is both exciting and moving. I found this movie to be nothing short of amazing! If you haven't seen this movie I definitely recommend it wholeheartedly! Jackie Chan has got the power – and kicks THE MEDALLION into high gear! Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I have always enjoyed Jackie Chan... I like how he combines Martial Arts and comedy. This is one I never even heard of until a friend of mine offered to send me a copy. And this one has a touch of the supernatural which is something else I always liked. There is also the plus of Julian Sands in this one. I always liked him in the Warlock movies. I enjoyed this movie... but at the same time it isn't one of the best Jackie Chan movies out there. Just an entertaining... silly movie. My Rating: 3.5/5 | | | Pete |

So, with help from a retired bank robber (Sam Shepard) and a jittery criminologist (Steve Zahn), these two beauties become unlikely outlaws, blazing a trail of larceny and laughter across Mexico! Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is another title of the many given to me here in the last couple months. What to say about this movie. It is far from the best Western I ever seen... it is not something one can take seriously. But it definitely has something going for it. The beauty of Penélope Cruz and Salma Hayek. And this movie is something that.... while it is not what one would think of as a good movie... it is entertaining in a guilty pleasure type of way. It is not something I could see myself watching often... but I could see myself watching it again. Matter of fact... I am a bit curious about watching it with the commentary track on... which has Cruz & Hayek on the commentary. My Rating: 3/5 | | | Pete |

Co-starring Eric Roberts (The Specialist), NATIONAL SECURITY will take you on a wild ride with the most unlikely heroes ever to wear a badge! Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Music Videos Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Felt like a bit of comedy... so popped this in. Unfortunately I found very little to laugh at in this one. I went in expecting a little more what with Martin Lawrence... but basically all I got is average entertainment at best. Getting no more then a chuckle or two out of the entire movie. Just a decent way to waste an hour and a half. If you watch this one don't go in expecting too much. My Rating: 3/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono, French: Dolby Digital: Mono Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:Chevy Chase Rodney Dangerfield Ted Knight Michael O'Keefe Bill Murray Sarah Holcomb Plot:Greenskeeper Carl Spackler is about to start World War III – against a gopher. Pompous Judge Smails plays to win but his nubile niece Lacey Underall wants to score her own way. Playboy Ty Webb shoots perfect golf by becoming the ball. And country club loudmouth Al Czervik just doubled a $20,000 bet on a 10-foot putt. Insanity? No. Caddyshack. Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and Ted Knight tee off for a side-splitting round of fairway foolishness that does for golf what National Lampoon's Animal House did for fraternities and Police Academy did for law enforcement. With hitmaker Harold Ramis ( National Lampoon's Vacation, Analyze This) in the director's chair, the virtuoso comic skills of all four blend into a riotous hole-in-one for comedy fans. In Caddyshack, the term "golf nut" takes on a deranged double meaning – and nonstop laughter is par for the course! Extras:Scene Access Feature Trailers Featurettes Production Notes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This one I haven't seen in many years... so many years in fact that I really didn't remember the actual movie... just remembered I enjoyed it.This has an all-star cast of some great comedians. I really enjoyed all of them in it. But if I was to be completely honest... as much as I did enjoy this one (and I really did)... I thought I remembered it being a bit funnier then what it is. I don't know... maybe it just wasn't as good as I remembered... or maybe my taste has changed somewhat since I was in my teens (that is how long it has been since I seen this one!). But either way... it was a lot of fun seeing this one again. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

Great flick, but I'll never watch it again. I wanted to slit my wrists after the first time. I'm all for down endings and harsh films, but man, this one was bleaker than I am! Just when it can't get any worse, it does, then again, and again. Mercy Clint! |
