Maybe It'll start a trend I think 15 minutes of Ken's development time is worth more than $18.95 | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

I think 15 minutes of Ken's development time is worth more than $18.95 I dunno. I like DVDProfiler and all; but he'd be hard-pressed to prove he's worth more than $75/hr to me. | | | Last edited: by Leiterfluid |

| Posted: | | | | I'm all for a menu driven version and like I read in a previous post here, I to would be willing to do a beta test and help with any bugs. It does seem that there are more and more requests for a smartphone menu driven version, as well as a palm and blackberry. I promote the software to all I see that might be interested. Here's hoping that Ken will succeed in it's development soon. |

| Posted: | | | | Let me start by saying that I really like the program and was happy to pay for the desktop version. More than happy, actually. I also know that Ken has put a lot of effort into the program. That said, I have to say that I'm dissapointed that no efforts have been made to include a smartphone version. It's obvious that many people are willing to pay for it. (Some have even offered to buy before it was finished to defer costs.) And the requests have been out there for a long time without any hint of whether or not a compatible version will be forthcoming. There was a mention of something for smartphones back in June or so, but I haven't heard any more about it. As a film professor, it's important to me to be able to have a mobile version of my database. In addition, I've recommended DVD Profiler to many of my students. However, it seems that more and more of them also have smartphones and also want mobile support, so I can't really recommend the program to them anymore, either.
Ultimately, I think it's time to find a new program. What's the point of asking for suggestions for new features if the one that seems by far the most requested hasn't been addressed for nearly a year? There's a competitor that's offering 25% off for anyone switching to their software before Nov. 30, so I might try them. It's a shame because not only do I really like DVD Profiler, but I'm going to have a heck of a lot of movies to enter into a new program.
I'm sure some of you will respond nastilly, or say "good riddance," and that's fine. I realize this may sound nasty, but this isn't anything personal; it's just business. The only reason I'm writing this post is because I believe that in the world of business, you need to listen to your customers. Literally dozens of customers have been asking for a year for smartphone support. If Invelos can't please them, you have to expect they will eventually go elsewhere.
I have my premium registration. I'll keep checking back. If the support is added, I'd like to return (but as I said, it's a pain to imput all those films) For now, though, they've lost my $18.95. |

| Posted: | | | | I whole heartedly agree with Deadserious. I'm an Embedded Software Engineer and understand that this is not trivial, but I don't think it is quite as hard as everyone says. It just requires some time to do the work. I just bought a MotoQ and it pains me to find I can't use DVDProfiler on it.
Maybe soon?????
I would gladly pay $18.95 for it. ($75/hour is a decent wage) |

I would gladly pay $18.95 for it. ($75/hour is a decent wage) On what planet do you live where a family of 4 can live decently on an hourly wage of $75.00 an hour? Imagine that this was your sole source of income for your family. From that $75.00 hourly wage you have to deduct federal income taxes, state income taxes, Medicare and medical insurance. Then you have to deduct monthly host server expenses, maitenance and upkeep. After you've taken care of your customer's needs, then comes feeding and providing for your family. Here in California, $75.00 an hour as sole income is hardly enough to run a business and provide for a family of four. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Move on down to the Bay area here in California where I live and try supporting a family of 4 on a sole income of $75.00 p/hr Hal. That outta be a hoot . Just so you know, I'm basing this on paying a mortgage as well . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection | | | Last edited: by Bad Father |
