My Thoughts:
So after watching 'Castle' a few nights ago. I decided i wanted to check it out. I dont remember seeing it before. And i have to say i really enjoyed the movie trough out. It had a cool story. A story that even tho it didnt happen much. The was able to make it interesting the whole movie out. And i liked what they did with this one. They had a good mix of everything really. Who knew that a movie about a man in a wheelchair spying on his neighbours would be this good? Well, for me this is yet another 'classic Hitchcock' movie that i will be def watching again. My Thoughts:
Well, that was.. I dont know really. I guess i had my expactions set a bit too high for this one maby. The movie had a sad and dark story. And with the story and Julia Roberts in the lead. I thought this would be a great thriller. But for me personally the movie didnt really 'take off' it had its moments here and there. And a interesting story. But i guess i expected more from Julia Roberts. And the movie was a bit too slow here and there. But other than that. It was an ok thriller. It had its moments. But i guess they could have done just a bit more than they did with it. A movie that if you find it for a cheap penny, check it out. You might like it.

My Thoughts:
A movie about a innocent girl that get kidnapped because she is a wonderkid, and knows about every numbers etc by heart. And on the other side of the world, there is a poor\sorryass man. With nothing to live for. And somehow the worlds collide. And the movie is about 'Luke' a poor man that lost it all, trying to keep this wonderkid alive. While chased by dirty cops, mobsters etc. The story was interesting enough. And alot of stuff happend trough out the movie. And there was some ok fight scenes, and some good actions scenes. So i'll give the movie that. But again, the acting wasnt the best i've seen. There was a few things that just was a bit off to me. And the some of the story just seemed a bit off. And then you got Statham as the big actionhero. Nothing very special really. Just the same old. All in all, an ok actionflick. A movie that you could check out if you find it for a cheap penny.

Extras:

My Thoughts:
That was a good movie actually. A bit different story, wich is always a good thing. And i really liked what Neeson and the rest of the crew did with this. Not a dull moment trough out the movie. Interesting to see how people react and do, when they are stranded in the middle of nowhere. And they have to fight the wilderness and wolfs etc to survive. They pulled some of it of just great. With some great effects, but there was some spots in the movie that was not beliveble at all. I mean, kill a wolf with your bare hands? Really? They should have made those parts a bit more credible. And i just have to say that the 'Alaska' nature and the scenery was just beautiful. And the i just have to say a quick word about the sound quailty in this one. Wow! Amazing sound.  And some ok extras.
A movie that i recommand you guys to check out. A few spots here and there dragged the movie down a bit. Other than that, a great movie IMO.

My Thoughts:
Ah, that was a great cop movie! Unexpected good actually. I didnt even know about this one, before i watched a trailer of it, from a movie i watched just a few weeks ago. I really love what they did with this one. Mix between handheld cameras and "regular" filming. Making it more 'real' and the story. I'm not going to say too much about that. That speak for itself. But i really liked Jake Gyllenhaal in this one. Did a great job IMO. And they had a allright crew behind him. And the nonstop action trough out the movie helped alot too, There wasnt a boring moment really in this one. Just a cool actionflick actually! A movie that i highly recommand you guys to check out! Its an entertaining 2 hours!

My Thoughts:
I've only heard great things about this movie. And got it recommanded by many. And i've had it in my unwatched pile for ages. And now i finally got around to watch it. And not a second to soon. What a movie it was! I actually loved it. Almost everything from the cast (and i have to say) A young Nat. Portman did a great job in this one! And it had a sad story really. But how they played it all, him the ruthless hitman. She loses her family (or should i say brother?) in a tragic way. And all she wants is revenge. And its a great but sad journey we follow really. And they make you follow every single bit of it. This was a real great actionflick. Who almost had it all. There was a few things in the movie that will put it down from a perfect 6. But other than that. This (IMO) is a classic. A movie that ofcourse is highly recommanded! And it looked great on bluray aswell! (I cant compare it to dvd) since this was my first watch. All in all a masterpiece IMO!

My Thoughts:

This is a 1987 TV movie that a friend sent me a copy of. It is off of an old TV recording from when it originally aired. With that being the case I was a little concerned what the quality would be like. Turns out I didn't need to worry. While it was an obvious old recording... it is more then watchable. And something that was an extra bonus to me personally.... he didn't edit out the original run commercials. And I found it oddly fun seeing the commercials that I haven't seen in a good 25 years! It brought back a lot of memories.

The film itself I found to be rather entertaining... well in a cheesy sort of way. The film makes more then one reference to the character (The Spirit) being similar to The Lone Ranger... and I can see their point. What with the similar look to the mask and the fact that Denny Colt is believed to be dead. But with such a cheesy feel to it... it also reminded me a bit of the old '60s Batman series. Speaking of which... I don't know if this TV Movie was supposed to be the start of a TV series that never happened or not... but I believe I would have watched the series if they made it.

Now I want to once again thank the friend of mine for sending me this one. I really did enjoy watching it.... definitely worth the time put in to it. Thanks 'Cat!

My Thoughts:

I felt like some mild... lighthearted comedy next. So I picked this one out from my unwatched pile. Which also happens to be a gift from a friend of mine. This one is an enjoyable little film. I am not surprised it was in there... but I personally could have done with a bit less of Dolly Parton singing through-out the film. But I am sure her fans love it. If you decide to check this one out... just go into it not expecting a whole lot. I think it is enjoyable... but nothing really all that special. Worth watching on a boring lazy day. Though not a top choice.

My Thoughts:
I got interested in this movie after reading about it in my 'Top 500 movies' in Empire magazine. And ofcourse they had only great things to say about it. And for me, i agree with alot they had to say about the movie. I didnt know what to expect really, since i hadnt watch any trailers etc of the movie. But the movie is just great. With a sick\weird story. And of course one of the lead in this movie is haunting the myth 'Candyman' and first she doesnt belive in the myth. But then something happens, and she starts to belive in it. And then everyone around her belive she's crazy ofc. And the way they made that work was just brilliant. And even tho' you dont see much details of what happening, and not alot of gore and blood. You kinda see whats been done to them. And the mix between that and some grapich scenes makes it very good. They had a real good balance between the 'grose' scenes and what you had to imagne what happend. And the mix between suspence and the horror was also great. And can i just say that the people who made the music in this movie, did a perfect job. The music and the sound effects was fitting just perfectly. But there was a few minor things for me that happend in the movie that will drag it down from a perfect score. But all in all, a real great horrormovie that i highly recommand you guys to check out! And the HD was also amazing IMO. Both the picture and sound quality was great! For me, this is a must have for you horrorfans out there.

My Thoughts:
This was a movie that i was looking forward to check out actually. Both because i usually like Brad Pitt's work, and i really like the mafia\gangster genre. And with the cast in this movie i expected me a bit too much i guess. The story wasnt too original (but you cant expect that anymore) So i'm fine with that. But something was missing for me. For the movie and the story of it. The movie was a bit too slow. And a few missed opportunites. And as Brad Pitt in this. Well, i think he could have done a bit more with it. As could everyone else. But its not all bad. The movie had its moments. It did. And there was some good spots here and there. But for a 'mafia\gangster' movie it wasnt the best i've seen. But IMO if you dont have any expactions going in. You might like it. I recommand you to check it out, if you find it for a cheap penny. I guess i expected more from the cast and crew in this one. This may surprise some of you... but this is the first time I ever seen this film. I have seen both remakes... but never seen the original before today! Something I am glad I finally rectified. Thanks to a good, generous friend that got me a copy after finding out I never seen it before. I must say... I am surprised just how much I enjoyed this one. I definitely prefer it compared to either of the remakes. For such an old film it holds up beautifully. The look of Kong was a lot better then I was expecting considering the age of the film. I must say... I enjoyed every moment of it... one I definitely recommend!

And a big Thank You! to my generous friend for sending me this set!

So, after watching 'The Oscars' and seeing trailers etc of this movie. I decided i had to check it out. And i'm just more and more a fan of Jennifer Lawrence's work! And after she won 'The Oscar' for the leading part. That did it. And i guess i kinda had some expactations going in to this movie. With the buzz around it. But what a movie it was! A movie that was both real strong with a strong story. But also a great comedy! With just some perfectly landed lines! And the movie talked about a serious issue with both a light and dark tone. (They mixed it in perfectly!) And for Jennifer's Oscar win.. Let me just say this. Well deserved IMO! Both Robert De Niro and Brad Cooper was amazing aswell! This might just be my favourite movie this year! And ofc, i couldnt recommand it higher!

Winner of the 2008 Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, Elite Squad presents an astonishing and intimate look at Rio de Janeiro’s vast and intricate web of police corruption.

It is 1997 and hundreds of thousands live in Rio’s notorious favelas. Drug trafficking militias have complete control within the slums while the police run their criminal enterprises outside. The elite BOPE force (State Police Special Operations Battalion) fights to combat drug trafficking, but keeping order has its price and their actions blur the line between right and wrong, justice and revenge.

Two of the force's newest recruits, Neto (Caio Junqueira) and Matias (Andre Ramiro), are childhood friends; one is quick on the trigger and the other is methodical and idealistic. Together they are the perfect replacement for the outgoing BOPE Captain Nascimento, but alone they may not have what it takes to survive.

My Thoughts:
That was an interesting movie i have to say..It was a blind buy really. So i didnt know much going in to this one. But the movie was actually good. A good story about the dirty cops in Brazil and Rio. And the work to remove the dirty cops and the dirty people in the suits. And we got to see the war between the honest guys vs the criminals. And i really liked how they did it. Not too much over to the top. A 'kinda real' feel to it. And thats good. But again, there was a few things in the movie that i think was a bit too much. And a few things that i felt didnt belong there. And that drags the movie down a bit. But i would say it was an allright actionmovie with alot of stuff happening. And i would say, if you find it or a cheap penny. Check it out.
