Quote: I got it working using <![epgfn=epg_1251]> and end up making the EPG folder in "c:\\program files\\dvd profiler\\epg\\"
Also I had to change Epsodies.txt to .html then it statrted to work. I tried for 3 hours but it didn't like the path "C:\\documents and settings\\user\my documents\\dvd profiler\\epg\\" it has no prombe with c:\\program files\\....
Maybe it was the missing "\" after "user"? "C:\\Documents and Settings\\Randall Lind\\My Documents\\DVD Profiler\\EPG\\" doesn't work no matter what. So since it will only work in C:\\program files\\dvdprofiler\\EPG\\ I don't care any more were the folder just as long as it works. |

Thanks for the reply. I've tried all your suggestions , ut still no luck.
With <epg=1> in the n otes I get error message Notes say get UPC Filename, but no file. 404
Using <![epgfn=043396114906.html]> i get error Notes say get UPC Filename, but no file. 404
My log in is windows user ( so this is right) even changing the location to var pathToEpGStorage = "C:\\Program Files\\DVD Profiler\\EPG\\"; // gets the same error.
I am totally stuck.
Big Al If you navigate in explorer to C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler\EPG\ and double click on 043396114906.html, does it show that EPG? Yes, it does | | | Last edited: by Big Al |

| Posted: | | | | I don't get the Load tag what's the point of it? I enter <![epgfn=file name]> in to notes section epsiode shows up in Guide html window seem to be no need for the tag load. The links tag shows where you get more guides I like that.
Xyrano it's on the bottom of your tutorial. | | | Last edited: by Randall_Lind |

Xyrano it's on the bottom of your tutorial. You have the choice to use either <epg=1> or <![epgfn=filename.suffix]> in notes or to use a tag, to load a epg for a given profile. epg=1 and tag requires filenames(the actual html file the epgl is loading) to be consistant, epgfn does not. For instance; I use a tag to load my epg's (those that are complete), and epgfn for any that is not. The result is less editing/content in notes. There are advantages/disadvantages with each way. The load tag works the same way as the links tag only it loads the epg. Hope that helps. x |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the information. I decided not to use hte tag system since I am using <![eplfn=filename]> I still use the tag EPGL with the baby tag links if needed but I did away with load.
I really think this is kewl. It may be the old way of doing episode guide but I got it working and that's all that matters to me.
thanks for clearly up the load tag for me. |

| Posted: | | | | I found something interesting a couple weeks back, but forgot to post my findings. So it's a little late, but hopefully it will help some. I was having a lot of problems with the guide showing up fine, but I was also getting the "Notes say filename but no file. 404" error. I know I've seen a few others mention this. I did some digging and finally noticed that the guides that were giving me problems, had some strange permissions. When I right clicked on the file in Explorer and brought up the properties window, Under the section that has "Attributes: ? Read Only ? Hidden", I saw something that said "Security: This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer". Next to it was an Unblock button. Clicking that button made the problem go away. I have screenshots, but I'm blocked from posting them here at work, so those text descriptions will just have to do for now. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Thanks for all the work. |

| Posted: | | | | I have modified this to now be a Soundtrack Player. Changed the code to be STK instead of EPG and with the use of XSPF playlists can now have a window with the soundtrack playlist. Works fine. Uses a freeware flash player to play the tunes.
If anyone is interested I can post complete details. | | | Last edited: by specise_8472 |

| Posted: | | | | I just finally got around to installing this.. and it works great... I am having a weird problem where one of the error messages are overlaying onto the html window... so the entire guide will show up, but over it in red text it will say....
"Notes say get UPC Filename, but no file. 404"
I was getting this error before I figured out how to correctly use it.... the tuturial was not clear that all "\" characters in the path to where the guides are stored needed to be doubled ("\\") - I had thought only the last one and was getting that error overlayed on what looked like an internet explorer error page... now I have it working... it's not happening on the first profile I did, but it's doing it on numbers 2 and 3...
any ideas on how to fix this?
I am using the <epg=1> in the notes field to activate the guides into the separate html window. | | | -JoN |

I am using the <epg=1> in the notes field to activate the guides into the separate html window. That particular message should only come up if you are using <![epgfn=*]> in notes. What exactly do you have in notes for those profiles displaying this error message? Have you created the epg's or have you downloaded them? If you've downloaded them, have you tried the solution Mark found? ...and for the record: Go to the tutorial, hit CTRL+F, type esse and your shall find |

| Posted: | | | | Thank you xyrano...
I apparently just needed a brief lesson in reading LOL
The \\ thing I misread the first time when I was doing this... and just mentioned it because I couldn't understand how... looking back it is in fact quite clear. I believe I was misguided because the original code only had single \ in the example string I needed to replace.
In addition, the guides were downloaded from Pete's website... and the "unblock" was needed to be done... totally missed that one.
Thanks! | | | -JoN |
