I'm not sure but I think it's missing that + DP_UPC; after the last quotation mark at the end of the path line. So it read

var gsl = "C:\\Documents and Settings\\Administrator\\Mijn Documenten\\DVD Profiler\\gallery\\"+ DP_UPC;

I have tested the preload approach but it isn't (so far) 100%, meaning that sometimes it will render all images in the folder but other times it just render some of them. Still trying though...

I take that as good news, as it I understand you that is already working sometimes so far...

Anyway, I'll have to quickly update the current script so Mr Z can use this (Locality in DP_UPC).

Why not advise Mr. Z to add the loaclity to the folder names...? A list of the localities is available here. The folders are then named using the UPC/Disc-ID, folloed by a dot, followed by the Locality number.

Gallery Viewer 1.2 available in my layout. See sign.

Zwollenaar: Grab this update (you need it), change this line:
var gsl = "E:\\DVD Profiler\\Gallery\\";
to this line
var gsl = "C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Mijn Documenten/DVD Profiler/gallery/";
Hope that helps!

That is correct for v1.0...
Oh, I better remove it...

Agreeably, if it doesn't work all the time, others may not want to use it...

If it doesn't work out, I'd love to get a copy before you throw it away...

I don't know if anyone here is interested... but I get the majority of my images off the net.. and I just found a great resource for Movie Posters (I like to have at least 1 movie poster in each gallery) so if you like movie posters to add to the galleries... check out http://www.impawards.com

Xyrano, me again, am I annoying you yet

Anyways, specifying only the width in the CSS for the img tag is nice, as it resizes proportionally, but usually, I prefer my thumbnails to all have the same size, so I added a height attribute too. Now, you can probably imagine what happened. The pictures are being resizes, but some are distorted!

Is there a way to make it so it crop the excess height instead of resizing disproportionally?

In all the commotion yesterday, I think I might have misunderstood  you. As I understood your post, you added a height value in CSS for the img tag and that some images now become distorted, but after that I'm lost

Ok, I'll show you with a few images I did.

Here's what your script currently does:

The images are all the same width (I've set it to width=145px; ), but the height varies because it resizes proportioanlly. (which is good!)

BUT, my preference, is to have all picture thumbnails be the exact same size, width and height. So, I added height=100px; which gives this:

Notice how all the thumbnails are exactly the same size, BUT, look at the pictures at 1x1, 2x2 and 2x4 (that's Row x Column, in case you are wondering). They are 145x100px, but they a squished in height, So they've been resized without aspect ratio constraint, as opposed to your original script.

What I'd like, ideally, is to be able to have the thumbnails be all 145px by 100px, so it would resize proportionally to 145px wide, and the cut-off the excess in height to make it 100px. As in this picture:

Does that make more sense? For your information, I hacked the third image in Photoshop, I have no idea how to make that work.

Here's a page where it seems to do what I'd like, but I have no knowledge of these things, so I don't know if it's feasable.

Yes, one can do amazing things with js.
Unfortunately, the second link on that page goes to a site that talks about a "JavaScript Prototype Framework" which would require a second download for us. Also, DVD Profilers HTML Window feature does not allow using any external files (an included file in the html document such as .css and .js files). So we are stuck with having everything inside the html which, as you can probably imagine, isn't really feasible with a large FrameWork package.

But, I know css have some 'clip' functionality that might do what you want, and I'm going to see if that might do the trick.

If 'clip' in css, does the trick; I think I'll include 2 user vars so width and height of the thumbnails can be set from within the configuration block, yea!?
