I am usually not for censorship, but I think those annoying things have to be banned, I wanna hear the singing and shouting of the fan crowds and not the noise of a giant bee swarm all game!

We were discussing this on another site, almost everyone hates these things.

I know that it is annoying on TV but, if I were in the stands, I would be tooting my horn too!

Whilst I don't particularly like those things, personally I think they're the most interesting part of the whole event!!

Haven't been able to watch five minutes of a game, before I turn it off. Way to go FIFA!

FIFA are now considering banning the vuvuzela. That's ridiculous  . The vuvuzela are a part of the African culture and the World Cup is in Africa. Learn to live with it.

They are not. Quoting wikipedia.

"Originally made out of tin, the vuvuzela became popular in South Africa in the 1990s. [...] In 2001, South Africa-based company Masincedane Sport began to mass-produce a plastic version"

It has nothing to do with South African traditions. I'd be all for real traditions, like using native music instruments to cheer. But these industry-made plastic monstrosities should be banned.

In American Football that would be the responsibility of the "12th man on the field", you think noise makers are noisy, you haven't lived until you been to the vet in Philly, talk about NOISY. You may come up requiring a hearing aid. Let the "12th Man" do what he does.
ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

Really enjoyed the Ghana-Serbia match. A deserved win, although i missed the reason for the first yellow card i can't be sure the sending of was correct.

Algeria-Slovenia wasn't very good, and again huge mistake by the keeper leading to a goal, terrible.

Just for fun: Heineken, the beer producers, always have a gadget to support the Dutch team, here's the German response to it (fictionalized obviously). Unfortunately i couldn't find an English subbed version.

Indeed.  We have been using them here in the states for years, though we call them Stadium Horns.  I hate them...though not as much as air horns.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

thank you Germany for showing us that not all soccer games end in ties, 1-0 or 0-0 ties.

And the worrying thing for the rest of us is....Germany always gets stronger as the tournament progresses. I think we may have just watched this year's winners.

So I predict Germany to top their group, and England to come second in theirs........time to start practicing those penalties, boys

While I'm very happy that germany delivered us a great game (even trumped my guess of 3:1), I still feel a bit sorry for the poor australian boys.

I hope they have more luck against Serbia and Ghana. If they are not too demotivated, it should be possible for them to win both matches. Ghanas win was more lucky than earned and Serbia wasn't that good, either. Both tried, but couldn't really deliver.

So, good luck for the kangaroos!

Not quite sure about this.
In 2006 Germany played great football (for the first time ever I think) but ran out of power in the semi-finals.
This year we have a very young team, let's see what they can achieve.

EDIT: Germany has one great advantage though: It has 70.000.000 national coaches!

Not to forget: some serious coaching for your goalies.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Not really excited yet (although I watched the England-USA game) but I will start watching once they reach the quarter finals or so, that's when it's getting interesting.

The only club football I follow is the English Premier League, esp. Tottenham.
