| Posted: | | | | I think as long as the page in iTunes clearly indicates what minimum version you need of the desktop software in order to have it sync with the app, it should be fine even if limited to version 3.7.x and up.
I've seen other apps that have such requirements and nobody seemed to mind, provided you can easily get that version of the desktop software, of course | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

And since there is no cost involved in any desktop update, there should be no user resistance. And just as an aside, will the iOS app work in any way with the trial version of desktop DVDProfiler? | | | Last edited: by johnd |

| Posted: | | | | What are we going to have to sync with? I can't run the program as I use a Mac. Will we be able to sync to the collection on the web? | | | rwr-b Bless your heart! |

But I don't think you can sync between them. Online sync has not been mentioned, so not sure what the possibilities are. Might be useful aswell. Do you have a PowerPC Mac? Otherwise you ofcourse could install Windows by using bootcamp, or are you maybe anti-Windows? Wasn't there also some tooling that could run windows applications/software on a Mac??? | | | Last edited: by Izo |

| Posted: | | | | Am I mistaken? I thought Ken said you don't HAVE to have the desktop version at all. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I just found what Ken said... it was in the code that was deciphered to say... Quote: FOR THOSE WITH AN IPHONE, IPAD, OR IPOD TOUCH, THE PC BECOMES OPTIONAL LATER THIS MONTH. So you don't seem to have to have the desktop version since he said the PC becomes optional... or am I reading it wrong? | | | Pete |

So you don't seem to have to have the desktop version since he said the PC becomes optional... or am I reading it wrong? The way i understand it is you dont have to use the desktop program once the ios version is released. If however you need/want to do lots of editing of profiles etc, you will have to have the desktop program for that as the ios version doesnt offer full editing. there may be a few other differences, but the desktop app is not madatory from what i have read |

| Posted: | | | | The desktop version is not mandatory, but it remains the only version that is fully editable (meaning you can change cast, crew, etc). Editing is possible on the i-versions but not for all fields ... at least, that's how I understood it.
Richard R-B, how do you handle it now? Do you run DVDP on your Mac using some sort of virtual PC program? If so, I think technically you could still upload your collection provided you open up the necessary port on your wireless router.
If that fails, you can always use bootcamp to install a Windows version and run DVDP from there, only using it to edit fields you can't edit in the i-versions.
What does Ken say about this? Is it workable? | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | Ken, you might want to re-capture the screenshots. You have posted proof that you purchased The Twilight Saga: Eclipse for $19.96 at Walmart. Such evidence should be destroyed and the thread re-started. Haha. | | | JAFO
