Hard collection to judge! Lots of great old classic Hollywood films, lots of just good stuff ... so really hard to fill the worst section.
Best Father Goose - my favorite Cary Grant film. Not the best one he ever made, but my personal favorite.
Hamlet (1948) - IMO, the best version of Hamlet ever filmed.
WALL-E - the best of Pixar's outstanding filmography. A beautiful film.
Worst Homeward Bound - not bad by itself, but next to the original The Incredible Journey its not nearly as good. The animals don't talk in the book, or the first film, they don't need to in the remake. And why recast the old bulldog as an old retreiver and the young retreiver as a young pit bull?
Imitation of Life - simply too maudlin, too melodramatic and too much like the plot of a soap opera.
Christy (tv series) - okay, I only watched the 1st episode, but it failed to hook me and instead left me wondering whether the series was something I wanted to watch or not.
Including Christy because it was so hard to find a third!
Most Needed Doctor Zhivago - you have so many other classic Hollywood films, I'm surprised by the lack of this one.
Blue Planet (BBC series) - the perfect compliment to Planet Earth, which you already have.
Donald Duck: any of the Walt Disney Treasures sets - you have the Goofy set and a lot of classic Disney movies, so Donald seems a logical addition. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

The City of Lost Children The Astonishing Work of Tezuka Osamu - For Legend of the Forest, if nothing else. Repo! The Genetic Opera / Bunraku - Tied for being great low budget films with unique looks and an ability to keep you glued to the screen.
Worst (to your credit, much of the stuff I hated I was unable to find) The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - What a terrible movie. So bad in fact that I gave it away to another forum-member, who's a lover of trash films, only to find that he had already given away a copy, as it was too terrible for him to watch. The Leopard - Such a dull, dull film. At least it's pretty. Alice in Wonderland (2010) - Did not work for me. Depp being cliche Depp. A plot only vaguely connected to the story it takes its name from, but then with nods to that work. Attempted to be weird, but ended up dull.
Most Needed (aka the hard part!) Les Vampires - I notice quite a bit of Louis Feuillade in your collection, but not this. Gamera the Brave - You have the recent trilogy, and some of the original series, but are missing this latest effort. Cannibal! The Musical - There are a few titles in your collection that suggest you don't mind trash (e.g. Killer Tomatoes Eat France!), so why not a musical about a cannibal in the Canadian Rockies? | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |
