Perhaps you've answered this somewhere in the thread, but when I use your plug-in to Play/Retrieve a movie I keep getting the message "Disk Eject Failed". My unit is able to load discs no problem, so could you point me in the right direction on how to fix this?
Thanks Ok, I need to know what you put into the "Location" and "Slot" fields. For "Slot" I put in the slot # location of the disc in my changer, for "Location" I left it blank and that's when I would get this error. However when I put in the drive letter of my XLB1 I didn't get an error but still nothing happens, the information I need to put in for "Location" is what I'm fuzzy on. These fields don't usually get filled in automatically by DVD Profiler, do they? |

Here is some information I copied from the first post in this thread which are the instructions for using the plugin (also available in the plugin HELP): "(1) Load of a DVD disc from a SONY VAIO VGPXLIB1/2/3 200-disc changer. If windows AutoPlay is turned on, the associated program will be automatically loaded and run by windows. Personal Information Location: changer0 - for the first changer in the series. Use changer1 through changer4, for up to 5 daisy-chained changers hanging off a single firewire port. (Not tested: changers on multiple ports). Personal Information Slot: slot# - an integer from 0 - 199 representing the slot location of the disc in the 200 disc changer" I hope this helps. If you leave location blank, the plugin will use the defualt that you set in the options - which is set to Dacal/Ziotek when installed. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Firstly I would like to thank the Dogg for his continued effort in wanting to resolve issues, and the speed of his replies.
However the issues I was having with VLC not able to load the file due to the spaces in the file path were a red herring. I started having the same issue if I tried to run an AVI directly from the file manager, so I uninstalled VLC and re-instaled the latest version (0.8.6c)
This seems to have resolved the issue and the LoadDVD plugin now works great.
Again thanks for the support Dogg

Thanks a lot Dogg, maybe I should read the instructions better next time heh. But I know I'll run into something I can't figure out again with this stuff, so don't go on any vacations just yet! I'm wondering if you could tell me how much success you've had with playing DVD+/-R DL discs on your XLB1, because so far none of mine don't seem to be working (I know Sony says no DL discs, but I was curious lol), and would a firmware upgrade maybe provide some DL support? Thanks again. |

Thanks again. Glad you didn't mind that gentle jab! I assume that means that you got it working. If so, I'll just remind you to take note of the last feature that I put in: if your disks are loaded in the changer mostly according to collection# (i.e. slot = collection# mostly), then you can set an option using the options panel to make SONY changer the default when the location field is empty. That means the only location/slot coding you have to do is for the exceptions. I put that in for the Dacal/Ziotek carousel folks. Saved them coding hundreds of profile records. I have 3 SONY units, and have had no trouble with DL, R/W, +/- issues. Sony does NOT say no DL disks. Most commercial DVDs are DL. Sony says no DUAL SIDED disks. It has to do both with thickness and the fact that there is no drive to read the opposite side (even though all the mounting hardware and electronics are). I have several discs that have Widescreen on one side and fullscreen on the other - but because they are thin enough, I just use them facing the widescreen way with no trouble. I have seen some forum posts regarding DL troubles, but I suspect that the incidence is no greater than that with any PC drive. If you are burning your own, make sure you get the best media and have the latest firmware in the drive you burn with, highest quality cables inside the PC, and a good IO card. If you have motherboard IO, consider putting in high speed ATA card with new cables. Also check firewire cables to the box are well seated and good quality. Things should improve. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | First of all, Mediadogg, this plugin is awesome, I have always managed a separate front end to read Profiler data and play movies from my file server. With Load DVD, and Profilers ability to customize the screens, I can use DVDProfiler for the whole process. Thanks for putting in the time to make this work.
I do have a question or two that may, if not possible now, lead to a feature request or two.
First, my layout is designed around a large thumbnail area and a movie info visible visible at the same time. One thing I would love to be able to do is to be able to execute the loaddvd play command from a custom html window. Imagine a "Play Movie" hyperlink or button under the movie overview. Don't know if this is possible, just curious if anyone has any ideas?
The second thing that I would love to see is the ability to tokenize the title of a movie into the filepath command in the notes section. So instead of having to type in a new string into each movie, a generic string could make it the same for most movies. For example:
M:\Incoming Movies\Shrek\Video_TS\Video_ts.ifo
could be replaced with
M:\Incoming Movies\%title%\Video_TS\Video_ts.ifo
Jusy a couple of ideas about the plugin if you are looking for this kind of feedback. It is an awesome tool to make DVDProfiler much more usable.
Sorry this was a bit long winded.

David Nowakowski I love that kind of feedback. Praise plus cool ideas. I have also recently become a big fan of HTML sections. I already have one that does what you want using WMP or Quicktime, based on stuff I'm learning in the Layouts Forum. So far, I haven't been able to find a way to use VLC - it only works with Firefox. Will publish the HTML window soon. The oither suggestion is outstanding. Will do soon. I have also considered an option to autogenerate the filepath entry for flagged profiles - what about that? Alternatively - maybe even an option that defines a template once - no need to even mess with the Notes field? Another thought: actually, you can already do what we're talking about - I kinda forgot (heh heh). It's called PlayFromDisk.bat. You can code a template exactly as you described - no need for anything in the Notes field. Just enter "play" in the location field. Then code PlayFromDisk.bat as: @echo off M:\Incoming Movies\%5\Video_TS\Video_ts.ifo or cmd /C M:\Incoming Movies\%5\Video_TS\Video_ts.ifo %2 is profile ID %5 is LabelSideA Don't have Title yet, but I could add that. Can you use this technique for now? Edit: Gasp, I lost all my HTML window code. I can redo it - sorry I was expecting to simply cut and paste it in - but disappeared from DVDPro - don't have a clue how or why. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Ok, here is an HTML section that plays your video in a WMP window. This has nothing to do with LoadDVD. But I did have some code that uses the filepath (which you don't need) and I was also working on code that would actuate the changer before viiewing the file. Since you can double click and get fullscreen, you might actually no longer need LoadDVD if in fact all you are doing is playing files from a template! Note that "yoururl" can be any vaild filepath or url, or it can even point to a "wpl" playlist file. Works like a charm: Reference web sites: http://www.mioplanet.com/rsc/embed_mediaplayer.htm http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms983653.aspx And a sample section: <HTML> <HEAD> <SCRIPT TYPE="text/javascript"> <!-- <DP NAME="HEADER_VARS" Language="JavaScript" Comments="True" IncludeCast="False" IncludeCrew="False"> //--> </SCRIPT> <BODY> <OBJECT id="VIDEO" width="320" height="240" style="position:absolute; left:0;top:0;" CLASSID="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6" type="application/x-oleobject"> <PARAM NAME="URL" VALUE="M:\Incoming Movies\Shrek\Video_TS\Video_ts.ifo"> <PARAM NAME="SendPlayStateChangeEvents" VALUE="True"> <PARAM NAME="AutoStart" VALUE="True"> <PARAM name="mini" value="none"> <PARAM name="PlayCount" value="9999"> </OBJECT> </BODY> </HTML> There are a lot of things you can do with this, including substitution for the title. When I get something, I'll post it - or you can complete it on your own - then I'll take advantage of what you come up with ... | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Hallo ,
first of all I`d like to say thankyou for making this Plugin. So now to my problem:
I have installed the Plugin. I wrote the path of the file I want to start into the "Notes-Section" of the DVD such as
[filepath]I:\0001) Antikörper (ZDF-DD 2.0-122)\VIDEO_TS.IFO[/filepath] but it doesn`t work.
Is this Plugin working with DVD-Profiler 3.1.1 ?
Are there any other adjustments to do before one can use this Plugin ?
In the DVD-Pulldown-Menü I can`t see anything of starting the file. Only when I`m rightclicking on the DVD itself I get the option on the Popup such as "Play/Retrieve Disc -> 1: Main Feature" but if I click on this nothing happens.
Do you have any further help for me ?
My regards dcologne |

| Posted: | | | | I don't want to be rude, but if you are reading the other posts, you would know that it is working. Also, you would know that the menu is working as designed and requested - right-click, plus toolbar icon. All of this information is in the instructions. Also, what do you have in the Location field? Can you do me a favor and re-read the instructions carefully, check the path to make sure it works outside the plugin, and if you still have problems, come back and describe everything you have done, and give some more details - just saying "it doesn't work" is not enough information for me to diagnose the problem. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | Hallo ,
Ihave re-read the instructions but my english is not good enough to understand everything. So, here are the complete path of the file again :
[filepath]I:\1) Multimedia\1) Video\1) Filme\1) Premiere\0001) Antikörper (ZDF-DD 2.0-122)\VIDEO_TS.IFO[/filepath] This I wrote in the "Notes-Section" This path is working outside DVD-Profiler and when I`m double-klicking on "VIDEO_TS.IFO" The DVD starts with the menu to select the movie on my computer using "Power DVD 7"
But if I click on the button of the Plugin the movie won`t start. Also if I click on this there are no other options which I can choose, only a popup with the description of the plugin appears.
Refering to the filepath above what do I have to write in the location-section of DVD-Profiler ?
Also there are adjustments in the plugin such as "default path for open" Do I have to make any adjustments there ? I need this plugin only to start movies which I have stored on harddisk.
Please tell me which further information do you need in order to help me.
Please help me because I like this plugin.

| Posted: | | | | Sorry, I didn't mean to embarrass you about your understanding of english. Actually, you seem to be doing quite well - a lot better than my German (Ich kann etwas ...). But you missed the fact that the Location field should have the word "file" (no quotes). Then I think it will work for you. Good luck. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Hallo ,
yes, this litle word "file" was the bug ! I wrote there the name of the file not the word "file"
It was a missunderstanding in translating the intruction.
Thank you for your help now it is working fine. My regards dcologne |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting brabandt: Quote: Can I setup an intro to movie AVI file to play then follow with the actual movie from my HDD on my computer with your plugin? Yes. Use the PlayFromDisk.bat option which means you put the word "play" in the location field, and the filepath in the Notes field, using the documented syntax (see post#1). You can have a filepath for each disc in the profile. In your case, wanting to immediately follow one file with the other, setup the filepath without the extension, such as [filepath disc=1]c:\myfolder\mymovie[/filepath]. Then code PlayFromDisk.bat as: @echo off %6.avi %6.ISO Depending on your player, you will either get them queued up, both playing simultaneously, or the second one interrupting the first. Try it, and then we'll augment the script to accomodate your player (for example, we could cause the script to create a simple playlist before calling the player to load the playlist). | | | Thanks for your support.
