Edit: I notice it's available on some fields (missing SRP), I just thought it'd be nice to have it on more of them. Ok, I started working on this and I think you're going to have to be more specific. It doesn't make sense on all fields, so there's no reason to add it everywhere. For example, is there a good reason to be able to find all empty Notes or Edition or Original Title? I can't honestly think of a good reason. That's not to say there isn't a good reason. I just don't want to start adding this in everywhere unless it makes good sense to do so. And as for Sort Title, I just tried to remove a sort title from a profile, and the program automatically puts one back in for me. I tried creating a new title without a sort title and the program automatically put one in for me. So I don't think there's a good reason to add a query for missing sort titles. Unless you can think of one of course. If you let me know exactly which fields you need this for, I'm happy to do what I can. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Don't ask me how I managed, but I have had a blank sort title field every now and then. Of course, they are pretty obvious when you sort the collection alphabetically, as they appear at the top of the list. BTW, I love what you've done with this plug-in. | | | "I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. But the fact that it can happen is enough to convince me. Version 1.2 (due out tonight I hope) will look for blank sort titles. Of course I have none in my collection and don't know how to create them. So I can't actually test it. But it won't be the first feature I was unable to test. | Posted: | | | | Mark, to create a profile with a blank sort title, do the following.
Edit a profile. Click on Personal Information. Delete the current sort title. Click ok.
Edit the profile, there is no sort title.
If you do it from the General Information section, it will keep re-adding the sort title. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

Unless something else comes up, look for version 1.2 later tonight. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

Yep, they're in hiding. Of course they helped me realize where I needed to dumb things down (no offense to anyone hiding in a bag). So there's no reason for them to hide. I'm not in hiding but rather I've been sitting back and watching all of the fine suggestions and creativity that are coming in now. I think I said plenty enough during the beta. I'll freely admit to being one of those that didn't know what Mark was talking about when he said 'regular expressions'. Quoting Mark Harrison: Quote: Quoting Broven:

You can get them too if you use the PDA version of the program to add new titles to your collection and then you sync to your desktop. The new profiles don't get the sort title for some reason. It's a bug. Quoting Mark Harrison: Quote: Ok, version 1.2 is now up on my site. The releases are on the Download page.

| Posted: | | | | I wanted to cleanup my birth years today and ran into a small problem. I was comparing against the List of Accepted Birth Years thread. The problem is that is alphabetical according to last name, but my query sorts by first name. So there was lots of scrolling involved. As a result, I've added an option for the next version to display names as Last, First Middle. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | Great job Mark, just playing with the plug-in now. Strange bug I have come across. All profiles with Ireland as the country of origin show up when you choose 'all profiles that don't have a country of origin'. Bizarre! Did the Irish upset you Rich | | | |

Same thing with Estonia Same thing with Philippines. These are new countries of origin since I last built my list of countries of origin. And that dates back to the CSV Export plug-in (which is wrong also). Since I wasn't aware that Ken added these at some point in the past year or so, they weren't included. Thanks for finding these. They'll be in the next version. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

Just took this for a quick spin, and I'm sure I'll find it very useful next time I go to do some auditing, or just want to stuff around on DVDP a bit. | | | Adelaide Movie Buffs (info on special screenings, contests, bargains, etc. relevant to Adelaideans... and contests/bargains for other Aussies too!) |

| Posted: | | | | Playing with the plugin, I thought of someting that I don't think is possible. I ran a query by purchase place, then was wondering, how much money I have spent per location. Would be nice to run a query on that. Mark? | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |
