| Posted: | | | | First, thanks for all the work you have put in this plugin. I recently downloaded and installed it. Works fine as long as I exported all flagged profiles but if I try to export owned, all I get is the titles of the columns. I'm using Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit with DVD Profiler 3.7 (Version 3.7.2 Build 1444). I have ran the database repair. I am only exporting - collection number, media type, title, sort title, location & slot. I do not have any custom profiles. My work around is to flag all owned and then export. |

It could be all cast separated by commas in a single field, a limited number of cast separated by commas in a single field or something like the first X cast members exported in separate fields. Or something else entirely that I've not thought of. Of course a lot will depend on how slow this makes the plug-in and how much interest there is in it.
Ok, it's almost a year from your posting, but I only just noticed it...
I for one really would like to have the option of including cast in the exported file. Most ideal for my needs would be the method bolded above. Typically 10-15 first names would be enough for my use, but of course it would be ideal, if the user could change the number him-/herself in the settings, if needed. Firstly thanks for your efforts. I've just started using the plugin as a workaround to the Android situation along with Memento and so far so good. I would also like to see a cast option but I would probably have gone with a simple First name + last name for the first 10 or so in the same manner as the directors etc. although a '/' or other field delimited list embedded within a CSV field would also work e.g. Cast #1: Clint Eastwood Cast #2: Sigourney Weaver or Cast: Clint Eastwood/Sigourney Weaver The reason I haven't gone with a comma as the delimiter is that it complicates processing the resultant CSV file and makes reading it manually more complicated as well. | | | Last edited: by MorpheusUK |

Cast: Clint Eastwood/Sigourney Weaver If you send me a version of the textfile you want to have I'm sure I could cook something up with XSLT. And don't worry there is a very nice GUI to transfrom XML with XSLT it wouldn't be more complicated than the CSV-Export. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

| Posted: | | | | Do you mind copy / paste from an HTML window?
You can set up such a window ("HTML Section") to give you a cast list in about 2 minutes. Then just copy / paste into a text file. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

cya, Mithi Hi Mithi, Sorry I haven't logged in here for quite a while and hadn't subscribed to this topic so missed your reply. I'm guessing you have probably done your memento database setup by now but just in case let me know and I will see if I can get it to you. (I can't see any obvious means to upload it as an attachment to this post) but be warned it was pretty basic. I did think of knocking up a quick Java program to do a transform on the XML at the time but TBH I just couldn't motivate myself to do so for something which was ultimately a nice to be able to do. Morpheus *Edit* Just discovered the new Android program so I'm guessing that this is now a moot point regarding the memento template. I've just tried it with my SGS2 with ICS. I've had a few issues with apps force closing since the ICS upgrade the middle of last week and this seems to also. I'm beginning to wish I had held off a bit longer before upgrading from Gingerbread. | | | Last edited: by MorpheusUK |

| Posted: | | | | Mark, i have a problem. I just downloaded and installed the CSVEport plugin. Everything worked great until I went from the 2.4 format to the Customer Format and asked for all fields. Now i seem to be getting some 'merging' of profiles. For example, the profile for '10' imports into openOffice with data from 'Absolute Power'. Not only is 'Absolute Power' at the end of data for '10' but the data for '10' seems to be 'jumbled'. For example under Sort Title it shows 10",£" In looking at the raw data i see something like "","10"","£","13.99", Note the extra quote. The movie does have the title of "10" (with the double quotes) If you want I could send you the csv file to examine. So i am trying to work out what the issue is .. is it the format of the csv? is it that the data lines are too long? Not sure yet. Do you have any ideas? I am not sure why this started after moving to the 'all' columns export but I just ran it again with the 2.4 format and it appears to have worked correctly Here is what it looks like where it really starts failing .. Note that '"10"' and 'Absolute Power' are the only ones that appear to have an issue so i doubt it is a length problem. Let me know what you think thanks DSig | | | Last edited: by dtsig |

| Posted: | | | | A couple other questions and a request:
1) is it possible to get the output in 'sorted' order. It appears to come out every which way. Not sorted as on the screen, not sorted in Title order or collection number.
2) i added LOCATION to the output and it put out a location for every disk. For example one of my collections has 12 discs. The Title outputed was only the main title but there are 12 columns with info in each location. Could this be optionally changed to only show the location for the specific "profile" ?
3) Could you add a xls format for output. I now the plugin is called CSVExport .. just hoping.
Thanks alot for the great work

Not sorted as on the screen, not sorted in Title order or collection number. You say how you don't want it sorted, but I fail to see how you DO want it sorted. Additionally, this is for importing into a spreadsheet program. Personally, I use Excel. I don't know what others use. Regardless, Excel, and probably most other spreadsheet programs kind of excel at sorting data. I fail to see the purpose of sorting it myself. Not that it's difficult mind you, I just fail to see the point. Output what you want, open in Excel or your spreadsheet program of choice, then sort on whatever column you desire. Quote:

Sorry, I don't understand. You're going to have to explain this one better. Quote:

Again, what's the point? Either file will open in Excel. You can then Save As to any format you desire. The whole purpose of CSV is that it's compatible with a wide range of applications on a wide range of platforms. Saving it as an XLS file is possible. But again, what's the point? It would look exactly the same as the CSV version, so I'm not sure what the advantage is. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. DSig I hope Mark doesn't mind me adding a bit to the response. I have a vested interest in this important plugin, and I try to make mine stay compatible with it. (1) agree totally with Mark's answer, although if he decided to do it, wouldn't affect my stuff (2) I think you misunderstand the concept of "Location". Location is a disc-level property. There is a unique location for each disc. There is no profile-level location, unless you use a tag for that purpose. To see how this works, edit a profile that has more than one disc, and you will see that each disc in Personal Info section has a separate Location, Slot, DiscID, Label and Description. If you only want the Location for disc 1, you could just delete the other columns from the spreadsheet before doing whatever it is you want to do. (3) Same here. DVDP already has XML output (I assume you meant XML, not XSL). Just load that into Excel and delete whatever columns or rows you don't want. (BTW if you did mean XSL, Excel will create that for you also). | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. |
