| Posted: | | | | I was just wondering if anyone else was having problems with this plugin having to be reloaded everytime I restart DVDProfiler. I'm talking about the 3.5 beta.
Not being a programming guy, I'm not sure if "reloaded" is the correct term. What I mean is that I have to go to View>HTML Windows>Edit and tell the program that PCP is "Suitable for Previews" every time.

Anyone else having this issue? I had it with 3.1 and still unfortunately have the same issue with 3.5 beta. |

Anyone else having this issue? I have seen this after trying some pc optimizing or register cleaning programs, but I forget which ones. I always backup (register or restore point) before testing these types of programs. Just a thought. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. | Posted: | | | | Thanks for the responses. I'm starting to see that it is happening intermittently, not every single time. I don't know, but maybe it's just another "feature" of Vista... | | | "I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. That setting is stored in your layout file. If you have a named layout that you sometimes reload via View -> Load Layout, make sure it contains the PCP Preview skin marked as "Suitable for Previews". That means, you have to explicitly save the layout via View -> Save Layout after changing that setting. You probably only changed the setting in the current layout, and therefore it got lost each time you have (re)loaded one of your saved layouts. | | | Matthias |

Thank for the help (and the awesome plugin). | | | "I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. | Posted: | | | | Has anyone used this plugin with Vista64? I have been using this plugin and love it but just got a new computer with Vista64. I can't seem to load the plugin now - I tried following the directions of opening a Command prompt and pointing to the DLL but it will not load properly. |

Seriously, what does "will not load properly" mean? Do you get an error message when trying to install the plugin? Or does it load but cannot be used? Or something else? Please be as specific as possible. If you have install problems, use the workaround described in "Known issues". Be sure to do that as Administrator (as ruineddaydreams already pointed out). If this still doesn't work, temporarly turn off User Account Control (UAC) on Vista. That's a tip provided by user Gadgeteer on page 4 of this thread. Since I don't have Vista, I have no idea if that helps. | | | Matthias |

| Posted: | | | | running with vista 64 ultimate just fine. I do have UAC turned off but I've not tried the plug in with it turned on so can't say if that affects it.

| Posted: | | | | Please note that the current version of Profile Comparison Plus (PCP) does not support the new and changed data fields introduced in DVD Profiler 3.5. That is not yet a problem, because contributions with DVD Profiler 3.5 Beta are still disabled. However, as soon as v3.5 profiles become contributable, PCP will fail to correctly show some differences.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that I have started to work on the next version. Planned features are:
Full support for DVD Profiler 3.5.
Selective update of front or back cover scans. No need to accept both, if you only need one of them.
Image-only comparisons will be handled by PCP, not by DVD Profiler. This includes the extended image info known from the PCP Preview skin and the new selective update.
New command "Copy Existing Custom Crew". This will allow you to persist your custom crew entries by copying them to the clipboard *before* accepting a crew update and appending them to the profile afterwards.
Add DVD Preview Comparisons can be viewed with the PCP Preview skin. A little known feature of DVDProfiler's Add DVD dialog allows you to flag two profiles and preview them side by side. | | | Matthias |
