I pmed you the details of the error message. Maybe that willl help you. I can send another xml file if you want. whether full database or what have you. But I would think no images. And probably no cast and crew?

There is a null field somewhere that I am not handling properly. When I import your XML, I am creating a profile without that null field. It is probably something that will make me go "doh!", but I'm just not getting it right now ...

So, if you can do a database  backup one or more profiles - just one is fine - that creates the error, then I can nail it quickly.

Just in case somebody else is following this thread - it worked for me. We are still working on it behind the scenes. Big mystery.

Version 1.10 Available

Changes:

- Ability to drag and drop displayed fields to rearrange display, remembered within session
- Changed Media Producer to Media Publisher to align with DVDP Beta 3.5.1 build 1239.

Exceptions:

- Profile ID always appears in Column 0
- Formatted UPC always appears in Column 1, if checked for display
- Disc Information cannot be moved or moved into (must be contiguous), but you can move around it

Thanks to MarkEll for the idea to do this. It turned out nicely and I learned some new programming tricks.

But I did not exhaustively regression test, so please report if anything goes crazy resulting from rearranged fields.

I have no use for this for a couple of weeks so I cant tell what its like in full use but I had a bit of a play about just now and didn't have any problems.
Is there no way to have the order saved over multiple sessions?  Don't bother if its a real PITA, as it is now it's much better than before because drag n dropping in the left pane is much easier than in the right pane.  Cheers for all your work MD!

Well anything is just "SMAP" (small matter of programming)  . Of course it can be done. It wasn't clear to me that it was needed. I'll put it on the non-critical update list.

By the way, what is your computer/ OS environment (sorry if you already told me before)?

Edit: Thanks for the info. Will update with the cross-session sometime within the next couple of releases.

No I don't think i have:

Win XP SP2
512MB RAM
Athlon XP-mobile 2400 running @ 2.4GHz
Abit NF7-S v2 (?)

Getting on a bit now, will be building a new rig once I fond out the min-specs for Starcraft II

Retaining the order of the fields over multiple sessions is more important to me than within a session because I rarely use the plugin more than once per session.  But as I say this new addition is definitely still an improvement.

I hope this is Good News: V1.12 available.

Apparently there is something wrong with my Vista system. I am rebuilding it, as we speak.

Meanwhile, I moved my code over to my backup development machine - XP Pro SP3, recompiled, and magically everything started working for me again.

I imported AD2DVD's XML file more than once, displayed Genres with no errors, defined new Genres, updated the profiles, download refresh from Invelos - all with no errors.

I have no idea how or why the V1.11 build got sick.

One disappointment:
On refresh from Invelos, the profiles that BulkEdit updated with Custom Genres got reset - those Genres went away. Unfortunately, we will have to wait for Ken to give developers the official tools before the BulkEdit changes to Custom Genres will "stick" and survive a refresh.

Sorry for any inconvenience. I would appreciate confirmation that your problems have been solved or still persist.

Remember: always uninstall the old plugin first.

just uninstalled old version, installed new v.1.12 version on xp sp3 - problem still persists. It can't load.

Let's try to get the diagnostic process organized. If you don't mind, if you could reinstall the last version that worked for you. If that still works, then it tells me something. If that also doesn't work, it tells me something else.

Thanks - can't do this without your help!!!

@pauls42

We might have to wait until I can support 3.5 officially. Don't know whether you have been following my threads, but there is really no official support for non-Invelos plugins for 3.5. The way it was supposted to work, was that a plugin would report to DVDP which version it was, and DVDP would work with it. Instead what happened was, new fields were introduced and things were removed (localities.dod), and changed (ratings, genres) with no way for plugins to handle the changes - officially. What I have been trying to to is put in some "back door" 3.5 support into BulkEdit, and unfortunately it is not working for you.

I'm really sorry about that. I haven't wanted to complain, but I think that it was quite unfair, given the amount of effort we put into this stuff for free, for Invelos to leave plugin developers hanging with no way to support the new version. There - I said it.

(Edited to correct DVDP version number)

Could very well be. But it is difficult for me to debug in an environment with so many unknown variables, and I don't have the skills of some of the developers, such as Goodguy, who know how to debug while DVDP is running - I don't know how to do that yet. So, I make changes, uninstall, re-install, test, observe, recode, recompile, and on and on. It works OK until you get a really hard bug such as this appears to be.

Well... we appreciate all the work you put into your plugins! And I for one can wait till the 3.5.1 support is done.
