Video: Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English: DTS-HD Master Audio: 5.1 Subtitles: English Stars:Morgan Freeman (1937) Ashley Judd Cary Elwes Alex McArthur Tony Goldwyn Jay O. Sanders Plot:Eight kidnapped women. All beautiful. All talented. All in danger of having their lives cut cruelly short if police detective Alex Cross and key witness Kate McTiernan can't locate the elusive "collector" who calls himself Casanova. From the Deep South to the California coast and back, the hunt is on in this provocative race-against-time suspenser based on the best-selling novel by James Patterson. Ashley Judd plays resourceful, strong-willed McTiernan. She's the lone escapee from Casanova's hidden lair... and determined to rescue the fellow captives she left behind. Morgan Freeman is Cross, a master at solving the unsolvable. But there's more than his reputation at stake: This time one of the victims is his niece in this "taut, riveting thriller" (Fox-TV). Extras:Scene Access My Thoughts: I havent seen this before today. Watched the thrailer and heard good things about it. And with Morgan Freeman you always get solid stuff. And the movie was a decent dark thriller, with a dark story. And Mr.Freeman and Ms.Judd again as the main characters. Works well together in this one too. But not as well as they did in "High Crimes" IMHO. And the movie had some twist and turns here and there, but you knew how it would end. All in all, a decent movie. Check it out for a cheap penny. My Rating: 4/6 |

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Kevin Smith directing an action-comedy. So that means lots of fun and laughs. Though I must admit that I was never much of a Tracy Morgan fan... I didn't mind him in this one at all. And I really liked both Bruce Willis and Seann William Scott. And being a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan it was fun to see the small part that Michelle Trachtenberg had as Bruce Willis' daughter. This is one I definitely recommend... the storyline is both fun and action packed. The entire cast did a fine job... well worth the time put in to watch it. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5

I will say that for me... the movie didn't age well. I at least remember it being slightly better then I feel it is today. Clint Eastwood was the man... and is still the man. I do think he has improved as an actor since this movie though. Not that he was bad in this... as I thought he did fine. But I do believe he has grown as an actor and has improved in his movies since this one. That being said... it really is a good movie... well worth the time put in to watch it. Directed by three-time Academy Award® nominee** Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours) and featuring Ralph Fiennes (The Duchess) as the grown man still reeling from Hanna's influence, The Reader is a "moving, romantic and poignant story" (Roger Friedman, Fox News) about the difficult distance between truth and reconciliation. *2009 Best Actress, The Reader. **2009 Best Director, The Reader; 2003 Best Director, The Hours; 2000 Best Director, Billy Elliot. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: DTS: 5.1 Subtitles: Stars:Glenn Ford as Colonel Pete Moore Bradford Dillman as Major Mike Dunning David Soul as Captain Roy Bishop Robert F. Lyons as Captain Cliff Riggs Guy Stockwell as Lt. Colonel Trottman Greg Mullavey as Captain Podryski Plot:Colonel Pete Moore is commander of the Whiney Radar Test Group, which has been experiencing electrical problems aboard it's aircraft. To ferret out the problem, he sends a four-man crew on flight 412. Shortly into the test, two jet fighters scramble and mysteriously disappear. Investigations begin, leading to the possibility of a UFO intervention. Extras:Scene Access My Thoughts: I had some hope for a decent movie when I pulled this one out... as it had a couple decent actors in it. But unfortunately they really had nothing to work with here. It is a story line that had potential.. but they just ruin what interesting story line they had with unwanted and unneeded narration. Most the time basically telling us what we already know by watching the picture on the screen. The writing was off for this film... it felt like we were watching a '50s Sci-Fi film made in the mid '70s! This film is only about 70 minutes... and I had a hard time making it through it. First I was fighting off falling asleep. Then I found myself more interested in looking at facebook on my phone then I was the TV screen. Don't bother with this one! My Rating: Out of a Possible 5

| Posted: | | | | Woohoo! Tomorrow is the first of October.... meaning my month long horror/Halloween marathon!Trying something a bit different this year. Years ago I had the record of 103 films watched in the one month. Of course I was not working at the time. So this year my roommate Danae Cassandra and I are going to combine efforts to try see if we together can beat the 103 films in the month. Meaning we have to each watch at least 52 films each. Since we both work full time this will be a challenge. On the plus side we do each have a week vacation this month. On the minus side we have a lot going on in October including a good friend's wedding preparations and wedding. So get ready to see lots of horror reviews! At least from me... not sure if she will post reviews here since she doesn't normally. | | | Pete |
