Alot like the paranormal movies. If you dont like that, this isnt for you. But for me i really enjoyed this one. A story a bit "out there" wich i like. Great moments trough-out. Fast paced horrorflick really. And this blurayset offers great sound too. And it got some cool extras. All in all, a really good horror flick. My Rating: 5/6 |

Their new residence comes complete with a spooky housekeeper, plus a fortune in buried treasure and 12 horrifying ghosts. Extras:NONE My Thoughts: I thought this would be a fun way to start my Horror/Halloween marathon. This is one I find to be a little more on the silly side then actually frightening. But I believe that is what William Castle was going for. A silly, spooky story. Though obviously the spookiness does not hold up in today's day and age. But it till makes for an enjoyable viewing experience. I would say it is definitely worth the time put in to watch it. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5

Abrams that's "big on chills."** After a catastrophic car crash, a young woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, A Good Day to Die Hard) wakes up in a survivalist's (John Goodman, Argo) underground bunker. He claims to have saved her from an apocalyptic attack that has left the outside world uninhabitable. But, as his increasingly suspicious actions lead her to question his motives, she'll have to escape in order to discover the truth. *Bill Zwecker, Chicago Sun-Times **Sara Stewart, NY POST Extras:Scene Access My Thoughts: Heard alot of great things about this one tho, and since i liked the first one. And the movie was actually very good, a bit different then what i expected it to be. I guess i expected a story similar to Cloverfield, but they made it work with how they did things tho. It keeps a steady pace trough-out. And the last 10minutes of the movie was a bit suprising tho. Makes me wonder if there will be a new movie down the line. Really enjoyed it. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono, French: Dolby Digital: Mono, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Mono Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:George Sanders as Gordon Zellaby Barbara Shelley as Anthea Zellaby Martin Stephens as David Zellaby Michael Gwynn as Alan Bernard Laurence Naismith as Doctor Willers The Villagers Plot:We have met the enemies and they are our children. Well, perhaps not our children, and that's the problem: they are the offspring of aliens who secretly impregnated human women! That's the riveting premise of Village of the Damned, a science-fiction classic rife with paranoia and set in England's tiny Midwich. There, the glow-eyed humanoids develop at an alarming rate and use astonishing powers of mind to assert their supremacy. Woe to parents or anyone who defies them. Yet one intrepid soul (George Sanders) does. It's "yesterday Midwich, tomorrow the world" in the sequel Children of the Damned. Unusually gifted youngsters who may be a leap forward in human evolution are brought from around the globe to England for scientific study – and then the terror hits with full force. Children, behave! Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Another classic. This one I found much more interesting.... and a film that takes itself much more seriously. In most movies I find the fact that it is in black and white to be of no matter what so ever. But for some reason in this case it feels as if the fact that it is in black and white actually adds to the enjoyment of the film. It is a good story line that moves rather quickly. It is one I would recommend checking out. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5

Extras:Scene Access My Thoughts: I decided to revisit the hostel series, long time since i've seen them. And the first one in the series is a good horror flick. As we all know Tarantino is the master of gore and blood. More blood the better huh? Got some great scenes trough-out. Some nasty spots trough-out. The acting wasnt any good, but that whats to expect i guess. Looking forward to part 2. This movie is more a "get to know" the characters kinda. My Rating: 4.5/6 |

The second installment in this terrifying franchise centers around three young American women (Lauren German, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), (Bijou Phillips, Bully), and (Heather Matarazzo, Welcome to the Dollhouse) who are studying in Rome. They are lured into a hostel by a beautiful young woman who sells them as the next victims of a murder-for-profit business. Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Interviews Outtakes/Bloopers My Thoughts: So, i've used the weekend good so far. Gotten a few movies in. Going in to this one, i thought i would remember a bit more from it. But i didnt. Alot of scenes and spots i didnt remember. Wich is a good thing ofc. In this one they have kinda switched the roles, and decide to target the girls\women instead of the boys. And the movie has some good nasty moments. Again Tarantino loves his blood and nasty parts. And i know its only a movie and all are actors\actresses. But whats wrong with people really? Some sick ones out there. So i guess all that makes for a good horror movie. And this bluray got alot more extras, some deleted scenes and blooperes. Great. My Rating: 5/6 |

While attending a bachelor party in Las Vegas, four friends are enticed by two sexy excorts to join them at a private party way off the Strip. Once there, they are horrified to find themselves the subjects of a perverse game of torture, where members of the Elite Hunting Club are hosting the most sadistic show in town. Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary BD-Live My Thoughts: Well, this one i rememerd alot from. We got a similar story as the two other movies. But this time they decide to take it all to Las Vegas. And we have a few good spots here and there in this one too. But not enough IMHO. This movie is more slow paced then the other two. In this they focus more on the gambling and not the horror and gore. This is the worst of the 3. Nothing more than a medium. Could have done much more with it IMHO. My Rating: 3/6 |

Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Featurettes Gallery My Scenes (bookmark feature) My Thoughts: This is one of the first classic monster movies I ever seen.... and definitely one of my favorites. I love this movie! I especially like how well done the Wolf Man makeup is done. Especially considering the age of this movie. Lon Chaney, Jr. did an awesome job at playing both the tortured soul of Larry Talbot as well as The Wolf Man. And even though is only a small part I enjoyed Bela Lugosi as Bela, the gypsy. This is a movie I have watched many times... and sure I will continue to enjoy many more times to come. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5

Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Music Videos Alternat Ending My Thoughts: So i havent watched this since it first came out, and i really enjoyed then. So i decided to rewatch it before work. And this is a movie i dont mind rewatching. And the movie is actually one of the better horror movies i've watched lately. The story is very simple, but it got alot of great moments trough-out. There are some people that are trapped inside a house, and to get out they need to avoid being killed by all the traps. This movie reminds me of SAW. Lot of similar spots! All in all, a great horror flick. Check it out. My Rating: 5/6 |

Sounds like easy money right? Frederick does his best to scare his guests into leaving early. Little does he realise that someone in the house is out to get him! When this film first appeared in theaters a skeleton would appear in the theater at a key moment in the film. Eventually filmgoers got wise to the skeleton and began pelting it with candy. Even without the gimicks, The House on Hauntd Hill is spooky good fun. Watch if if you dare... Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Featurettes Gallery My Thoughts: What is an October marathon without Vincent Price? And this is one of my favorites. Sure it has it's share of campiness but what Willaim Castle film does not? While the entire cast did a good job... I especially enjoyed (of course) Vincent Price as well as Elisha Cook. This one has a great story line... the setting fits perfectly. This is definitely one I would recommend. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5

Academy Award® nominee Bette Midler (Best Actress, 1991, For The Boys), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sex And The City) and Kathy Najimy (The Wedding Planner) star in a wild and wacky comedy for the entire family. When three 17th century Salem witches are accidentally summoned by modern-day pranksters, the 300-year-old trio sets out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth, but first they must outwit three kids and a talking cat. Get ready for a night of zany fun in this bewitching comedy classic – now even better on Blu-ray! Extras:Scene Access Bonus Trailers My Thoughts: I watched this one with my daughter Brittany today. Her pick. I found it to be a fun... albeit silly film. But I am sure it was meant to be. After all it is a family Halloween film so it is children friendly for the most part. Through some of it I was annoyed with the main cast's over-acting. But once I got used to the idea it added to the fun. I can see adding this to my yearly Halloween viewing... though for me it is more to make fun of and laugh at. I feel comfortable recommending this one... it is worth the time put in to watch it. I really enjoyed this film...and love the fact that I got to watch this one with my daughter since we enjoyed watching the series so much when she was a kid. I think they did a good job at bringing a lot of the characters from the series to film. Jack Black has always been hit and miss for me... but I really liked him playing R. L. Stine.
