| Posted: | | | | It's pretty clear to me that several of the points under "Clarification / Adjustment to Rules" actually do overrule the standard rules. We have several "Do not ..." amendments. So it's not at all obvious that the bit about the overview doesn't also overrule the general rules. My impression is that "The standard rules do apply..." means where nothing else is stated. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting GSyren: Quote: I think that Ken intended for standard rules to apply. I think we should apply standard rules. That said, I don't think that the rules make that clear. Let me explain:
If the box set cover contains a listing of contents with brief descriptions of each, enter it directly into the Overview field.
Now, if standard rules do indeed apply, then this sentence is superfluous. Such a listing should have been used for the overview anyway. So the inclusion of this sentence seems to imply that standard rules do not apply. It may not make much sense, but then again it's not the only thing in the rules that doesn't make sense. If I remember correctly, the argument that lead to this addition to the rules was that "a listing of contents'" was not an overview. This was especially true if the box set had an overview as well as a listing of contents. While I agree that it was an unnecessary addition, it was the only way to silence the naysayers and ensure that we could add them...which is what most of us wanted. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
