| | Posted: | | | | Apologies if this is in the wrong forum - Its a bit of a crossover between Desktop / iOS.
With M1 Mac's supporting running iOS applications on the desktop, I thought i'd give it a go and see how DVD Profiler runs under it. It appears once you download it, it works fine on your desktop. Connecting to Invelos sometimes pops up with an error, but you can click OK and keep retrying until it works and gets through. Not the same as the real windows Desktop version, but its quite handy for a quick lookup of a title and so on.
Just thought i'd post this here just in case there are other M1 Mac users out there that haven't tried to install DVDProfiler on their Macbook because they weren't aware it will run.
But its great, I have an icon in my Dock now with DVDProfiler, and it runs quite nicely in a window on the desktop. |

Its definitely gimmicky. But for quick scan to find titles and things like that it’s quite handy. I haven’t bothered with parallels since the initial beta run when it was free, I’m hoping there will be another solution in the future as I don’t run many windows programs anymore. I have an old pc sitting around just for dvdprofiler and a large iTunes library. |

I haven't tried it myself yet, but just thought I mention it here. Why thank you for making me aware of UTM. I'll give it a go. I used Parallels years ago, but got sick of them updating and making you pay every year for a new version. Have been looking for an alternative sicne moving to the M1. Parallels works great however, or it did in the Beta - but their pricing structure is horrible. |

| | Posted: | | | | Just installed UTM, downloaded Windows 11 ARM and installed it with no problems other then not having a network connection. Downloaded Spice which is recommended for that, and took me a few moments to work out you point the DVD drive image to the ISO of Spice to get it recognized. Installed that and now the internet is working. So Downloaded DVDProfiler and just importing my collection. So far seems like a great free alternative to Parallels for my simple usage. Thanks again for pointing me towards UTM. |

I was just reading that there are some limitations as to what applications you can run on an ARM version of Windows 11, but it is unclear to me precisely what those limitations are. I am planning to migrate to macOS when M2 Macs are released next year, and DVDProfiler is just about the only application I still need to run in Windows, so was going to try the Parallels route. |

Yup works for me with no problems at all in Parallels. I have it running on Windows 10 and Windows 11 ARM under parallels. Great! Thank you! |
