I accidently noticed that several of my local profiles are not available yet in the Invelos database. I recall that the database was being rebuilt from scratch via contributions from version 3.0. So I guess that is how I can now contribute those old profiles that are still missing...
Only problem... how do I easily tell from within Profiler whether or not the profile is online as well ? The only way I know it right now is by submitting it and then waiting to see if the server accepts it, or simply tells me there are no changes.
However with a large collection this is not practical... So I think I'm missing the obvious (like some mass contribution/export).

Ken will be doing an import of the missing profiles from the old DB.  Best to just wait a little bit for him to finish.
Are you local?

If its in your local database, you can check to see if there is an online profile by clicking on the text link that says "View Contribution Notes" in the center panel.  If it comes up blank boxes, then there is no online profile.

Thanks for your reactions. I was under the impression that the 3.0 database would be automatically rebuilt by everyone's local database, but this is apparently not the case. But since Ken will do an import (of only the missing profiles, I would hope ) then I guess I could just wait a bit as well...

Could you tell me where this "text link" is and "View Contribution Notes" in what center panel?

The "View Contribution Notes" link is in the General Info window. However I find it easier to right-click the "Update Profile" icon (in the same window) and select "Preview Changes...". If you receive an "Unable to download file.. " error, the profile does not exist online. The icon is clickable even when grayed out.

This is also an easy way to compare your scans of the covers to the one in the online profile.

That's not exactly what Rifter said. but no matter. I'm already familiar with your method as I've been using it myself. I was merely curious to see if this was an alternate method that might prove better.  I guess the terminology he used threw me off. That's all.

Nonetheless, I've often thought it strange that I always get this error message when trying to see if there is any profile in the main Invelos db for an individual title. You would think you would only get a "no file found" or something like that.

I forgot to add. I think many of us are waiting until Ken does "the merge."  There have been very few updated profiles of late. I know I've held off for the time being.

I haven't seen Ken on the forums of late either.  He must be working hard elsewhere.
