| Posted: | | | | Hi, I just thought I would list the things I think would significantly improve the support for BD and HD-DVD releases:
Case types: 'Blu-ray case' and 'HD-DVD case'
Region support: For releases tagged DVD, as now For releases tagged Blu-ray - ask for Blu-ray region (A,B,C) and display the correct icon. (HD-DVD doesn't have regions, so don't ask for one)
Audio formats: Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD High Resolution, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio
Video formats: The ability to say what format the video on the disc is in (1080i,p, 720i,p, 480i,p, 576i,p - possibly also stating framerate, if known. the non-HD resolutions would be needed for some special features) in addition to the aspect ratio. For a HD disc, no need to be able to say anamorphic (HD discs are natively widescreen) |

| Posted: | | | | Some good ideas. The case type could be unified, they're as near as dammit (I have NO idea how, out of everything that differentiates these two formats, they managed to standardise their packaging).
Special features don't matter for video formats, such is only listed for the main feature, but all of those you list might as well be in there just in case. I agree on the anamorphic thing; if there is no such thing for HD formats then it might as well be blanked out like HD DVD regions. |

| Posted: | | | | It would be great to have the ability to add the number of channels for those new audio formats.
Currently we can only choose TrueHD, DTS-HD or Dolby Digital Plus, but there is no way to assign the channel number to them (could be anything from 1.0 to 7.1 depending on codec used).
Also PCM is limited to either a generic "PCM" entry, or alternatively to "PCM 5.1".
Information on bit depth and resolution (e.g. 16 bit/48 kHz, 24 bit/48 kHz) would also be helpful. |

A lot of your audio choices are there, but indeed need further options (e.g. Dolby Digital Plus 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, EX, et al). | | | Erik
