It would nice if in addition to being able to display the front and back of the cover art that we could also display the 'spines'  That way for those of us that make backups of our dvd's, we could print out the entire cover.  There are websites where this is available, but sometimes the quality of the scans is less than desirable.  Just a thought.

You own the original discs, so all you need is a scanner.

The best place to get high res cover is hirescovers.net I use this site to replace the cover art that DVDP downloads.

They don't have every movie and not as big as cdcovers.cc but it works great for custom covers for DVDP. Frankly some of the cover scans just suck that was approved for the DVDP database.

I believe it cost about $20 a year but, well worth it.

First of all see Skip's comment above.  This issue has been beat to death in these forums (I think mostly from the ones from the 'old site').  I think this would be nice to have but understand the reasons for not doing it. 

There really is a simple fix for this and that is to scan them yourself, however, do not insert the images through the program or you will lose quality -- just copy the scanned file(s) to "%userprofile%\My Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default\Images" using Explorer.

Pardon me saying so, but the only reason why I see this would be needed is for pirate copies.
The purpose of the scans in DVDProfiler is for informative purpose only, and definitely not to print them out. Why would you want to print them out if you have the DVD yourself ? If you feel the urge to make a backup copy, you can just as easily make a copy of your own original covers.

If it's just those few, can't you just try to get hold of them from some website, or from someone else willing to scan them for you ? I don't think you need DP for that, do you ?

Yes, I've read about the legality.  You can omit the spines, but I just want the images to be bigger.  And some of the images are so incompetently handled by the contributer that they are filled with compression artifacts.  Yes, I do want to print these images; there are reasons for printing them other than pirating the discs, you know.  And yes, of course I know I can scan them myself, but do you know how long that would take me?  This is such a disappointment.

This app was never meant to give 600 dpi images as the app isn't designed to print covers.

90%+ of the time, the cover displayed in the app is displayed well under 100 dpi.

Don't be disappointed in the app, be disappointed in that you misunderstood what the app is for.
