I hope I am posting this in the right place. If not I am Sorry.

Not a rant (I hope) Just a Perspective...

The people on this sight, both Invelos, and users, for the most part, are very user friendly.

I just want to say from a New Person's perspective, that I appreciate that. There have been misunderstandings such as I did not know that for years this software has been compatible with Bar Code Readers, etc, just things a new person might miss. But for the most part? All is well.

Ok. I have worked with PC's since 1979. Yup. Green Screen Monitors, you know, ancient.
And while most of you may find this Software "Simple", I think it is Groundbreaking. I really do.
For those of us with large collections, even having it Bar code compatible is awesome.

I recently bought and registered both the main program, AND the mobile version, and I am astounded at the quality of both. When I say some might take these programs for granted, I don't mean it condescendingly at all, you all are so used to it. I am so star struck by what they can do.

After working with them both a little, the only improvement I could even imagine, and I may find out that it is already available like the bar code readers and look like an idiot - again - But you know how you can click on an actor, director, etc, and add a picture if you choose? How about (For those online) if when you enter a movie, it finds a public domain picture and automatically adds it? Or, for those with low hard drive space? Make it an option.

Another idea is to have on Invelos sight a server that houses user submitted pictures, but that would be up to Invelos entirely. I like the 1st option myself...now in the event that this is already possible? Please don't bite my head off, I am new, and I Love both these programs!

I have budgetted something because it can also be used to track my kids medical records online...

Today I am having delivered an HP Touchsmart IQ816. You have to look this one up to believe it.
It is NOT the one you usually see in stores...26 inch touch screen, blu-ray burner, 4 gig ram, 750 gig HD, AND I am having a WIRELESS Bar Code USB scanner that scans cordlessly, then plugs in and inputs by USB! I think I am in Heaven. That is arriving today, or maybe tomorrow.

I will keep you all posted, and Thank you for all your help. I don't usually post online anywhere, I don't go out much either, my kids handicaps make it difficult, hence the amount of movies I have.

The idea is good, but I don't think it will happen for one simple reason: Copyright-issues!

Invelos gives you the possibility to insert pictures of the actors. Which pictures you insert is entirely up to you, and so, Invelos can not be held responsible for you using copyrighted pictures. If they could, I would guess your ISP could also be held liable if you used your connection to download any kind of illegal/copyrighted material.

Now, with your idea, Invelos could be held liable for distributing the pictures if someone posted a copyrighted image to the collection...

Yes, I do know that there is such a term as "Fair Usage" (or something like that) in the USA, but to the best of my knowledge, we do not have such a thing in Denmark. By Danish law, I could be prosecuted for downloading copyrighted material when getting the pictures, even if the server I am getting them from is located in a country where it is legal to download them...

Oh, and no, I do not think the program is simple! Well yes, it it simple anough (now) for my everyday use, but sometimes I still find new things in it that I didn't know was there - even after 3-4 years of use!
The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. (William Gibson)
