| Posted: | | | | Not Rated Movies/TV Series are e.g. stuff for children, but also horror or hardcore stuff. So it would be great to give these Releases a Adult-Flag. A seperate Rating is not enough because there are also rated-stuff which is "adult-stuff" (e.g. indexed Releses in Germany) | | | regards, Mad -

| Posted: | | | | Oh boy that'll be complicated, won't it? Because this is something very specific and not the same as banned. It's more like eeeeeerrrr ... yeah. Maybe not allowed to advertise?
I mean there are basic ratings: FSK 0 FSK 6 FSK 12 FSK 16 FSK 18 Keine Jugendfreigabe JK/Spio Not Rated
But "indiziert" isn't actually a rating, isn't it? | | | Last edited: by Peter von Frosta |

| Posted: | | | | It's not the same as banned (That should be another flag, but one step after another ) That's why I propose to add an "Adult"-flag, because it's not a Rating "Pornographical Data" and "extremly brutal cruel content" on the one hand and "unrated dvds with kid-cartoon" on the other hand togegher in one list "unrated releases" looks like there should be a possibility to differ between | | | regards, Mad -

Here in the states something like pornography has no descrription. As one of court justices said many years ago, (paraphrasing) "I may not be able to define pornography, but I know it when i see it." The court's ruling wound up being "community standards", which means that what may be considered pornography in one town, may not be considered pornography in another. Actually probably a pretty wise decision on the court's part.

Skip How can you have any legal certainty if something like pornography isn't decribed properly? On the other hand it's very consistent with having a jury of amateurs deciding the outcome of trials Okay what is the definition of what we call "indiziert". We do have the FSK which is the equivalent of the MPAA. They decide on the actual rating of the movie/CD/etc. You can also have you movie rated by a group of lawyers (SPIO/JK) if the movie violates any laws and then you'll get SPIO/JK approval (which is not an actual rating but I guess you get the point). However there is another instance and they check if your movie/webpage/etc. is espacially hazardous for the development of children/teenagers. If they thing this applys they'll basicly flag this movie as "indiziert" which means that you cannot promote and you are not allowed to sell this movie openly, only to adults in a seperate store-room. There is also a need for age verification if you want to sell such media only and I'm not talking about the "click here to confirm you're over 18" approach. The idea is that minors will not only be unable to buy this movie but should not be made aware of this movie in the first place. This is a very sever action and is used too frequently as this is indeed a form of censorship as this is not only affectiing minor but also adults in a very profound way. Incidently the BPJM was founded in the 50s to avoid occupation-censorship and should have been shut down after the occupation-force left Germany. lol I just found a wikipedia entry for this, for more information go and see this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BPjM |
