So,  if this issue has already been discussed/solved, please let me know.  I've searched and have found no threads on this.  With that said....here it goes.

I have recently upgraded my home theater system.  I have a PS3 as my "media console".  In other words, it not only is my BD player, but also I have it networked to my computer to play my music and movies off of my computer.  What I would LOVE to see is the capability to browse my profile from my PS3.  In other words, is there a way to "share" the dvd profiler that is on my computer and view it on the PS3 through my network?  This would be awesome.  I wouldn't have to go to the computer to view my movies, rather, just pull up a menu on the PS3. 

I wouldn't think this would be too hard of an issue to fix.  My knowledge, however, is just a little too limited in this area to fix it myself.

Please, any help on this is greatly appreciated!!!!!

If writing a small app/plugin for a PS3 isn't possible or just to difficult to do, I thought of something that "could" work as a jerry-rigged solution.  Not preferred, but do-able.

I could "share" my DVD Profiler directory that has all the DVD Cover images in it with the PS3 media server.  Then in the PS3, I could easily browse the DVD covers.  The only issue with this is, however, all my disks are stored in a big storage bin with "slot" numbers.  So, unless I can change the naming convention of all those image files to reflect the slot numbers, I would still have to go to my computer to look up where that movie is stored.  So, that in itself is a different issue.

I (and I'm sure many others) would much rather see a PS3 plugin though.  I wish I was smarter so that I could just make one myself.......

Just trying to brainstorm a bit here, but is there any way to have the online listing show the slot # of the movie rather than the collection #?  (I am not at home to check it out now.)  If there is a way to do that, you could use the PS3 browser to view your online collection and it would tell you where it is stored.  While not as nice as full integration with the program, it would at least give you some info on each movie (in addition to the cover scans).

Hopefully someone will come up with a good idea for this.  Maybe it's something that could be developed in online plus???

Assuming the PS3 has a web browser, you could also write an HTML app with any kind of design you want, that references the images on the shared Profiler folder.

Some examples:
- The HTML created by the iPod Exporter plugin may be able to be tweaked or adapted
- The HTML Smartphone script that comes with DVDProfileLoop, as an example
- Use an XSL script that works with the InstantExport plugin. See any post by mithi for some tools.

My biggest concern of using the images (other than renaming all of them) is the hassle of keeping the image names sync'ed with changes to slot locations.  Sometimes slot numbers change for some users (ex. if the disc in slot #1 is sold, lost, damaged, etc, a different title is assigned slot #1).  It would be nice to only make slot changes in dvdpro and not have to remember to make changes elsewhere.  This might not happen often, but that makes it even harder to remember to change when it does.
