Just getting back into the whole updating thing since I just got version 3, and there were a few minor uncertainties I had related to some of the fields, primarily in relation to anime titles.

Disc ID Description

From this, I'm assuming that pretty much all single-disc releases should have their description as "Main Feature"?  I've noticed a number of discs so far that have the description as something like "Episodes 1-4" (since obviously each disc covers a particular spread of episodes for the series in question).  Is there any reason to use the "Episodes..." description (ie: for boxsets or other such collections, or just general info), or should they all be forced back to the default of "Main Feature"?  At the moment there does not appear to be a more direct way to identify individual episodes on disc aside from the Overview, and that has rules which often preclude placing that information there.


Cast

Is there any agreed-on style for how to include the splitters in cast lists?  For example, if certain cast are present only in certain episodes, should those episodes have their own section? This can get somewhat unwieldy (ie: Japanese (all)/English (all)/Japanese (Ep 1)/English (Ep1)/etc), but at the same time may alleviate some of the problems of a single actor having so many roles over the course of the disc that there isn't room in the role field to hold them all (especially if you're including notes on which episode said role belongs in, which is also done inconsistantly).


Crew

Is there an agreed-on style for specifying the English language ADR crew roles?  This would apply to any foreign language adaptation, I suppose.  Would it be appropriate to use something like: "Wendee Lee (ADR)" in the director (credited as) field?  It's not a modification of the name shown in the credits relative to her real name, but a modification to the role she fills.


Original Title

I've seen a couple of these show up so far: entering the 'original title' as a romanized version of the Japanized version of an English word (eg: Baburugamu Kuraishisu for Bubblegum Crisis, and Banpaia Hanta D for Vampire Hunter D).  When all you're doing is round-tripping the word to make it generally completely unlike the original word that it's supposed to represent, should it be allowed?  Even if it's being written in Japanese, the original title is still technically in English, so there should be no reason to change it (unless it actually is different from the English title used on the disc, in which case I'd still wonder why you wouldn't use the English words).

Missed that somehow.  Thanks.  However I'd request that that particular line be updated to be clearer, since it doesn't actually say how each disc should be labeled (and for that matter, is there a standard formatting for episode descriptors?), only that it should be labeled, and given that the other rule says that the default ("Main Feature") should be used wherever possible, that's unnecessary confusion.

Also, you seem to have misunderstood my question about labeling for boxsets.  It's not whether the boxsets themselves should be labeled, but whether labeling the individual discs would be considered acceptable when used in conjunction with boxsets, so that you can see what each disc contains.

Um.... I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say in that last post, so I'll just move on.
