| Posted: | | | | Does anyone know of a good MKV to AVI converter? I'm hoping to find one which will output the entire file. The ones which give you only a few minutes unless you buy the program are a pain! | | | Just in from somewhere left of the middle of nowhere The Holy See Hell |

| Posted: | | | | I don't know of any off the top of my head. However, if you keep an eye on http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ you might get lucky. They have a different piece of software up each day & it's perfectly legit. You do have to download & install the software from there straight away though due to the activation process. |

http://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/ I forgot about NCH. Although I've not used Prism, I have had good experiences with some of their other products. |

| Posted: | | | | Often overlooked features of VLC Player are its transcoding and streaming capabilities. It will convert just about format it can play to any other format that it can play, and stream the output to video, a file, or the internet. I can't speak to the efficiency or quality of the conversion, but it is an option you can try to see if it meets your needs. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | I did just that a loong time ago, so dont remember what program i used. However, i found that program from my PC: http://www.avs4you.com/avs-video-converter.aspx So that could be it. But it could also be one of the dozens of programs i tried before finding the right one EDIT: that seems to add a watermark to the video file if you use the free version, so i probably used something else. | | | Last edited: by whispering |

| Posted: | | | | I said if you keep an eye on the link I gave above something may turn up and it looks like it has! Their offer for today is for WinX Video Converter. MKV is one of the listed formats. As of the time of writing this, you've got approx 21 hours to download & install it. I've not tried it yet so can't say how good it is. | | | Last edited: by Ardos |
