Unable to Connect: AirPort Express Router

Hi-

I have not been able to connect to my desktop DVD Profiler from my iPhone; the Test option also states that it cannot connect over the internet.

My firewall is turned off, and I have tried both the computer name and the IP address that is shown on DVD Profiler. I have also tried ports 80 and 8080 as others on this forum have suggested.

My router is an Apple AirPort Express.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Is the AE in bridge mode as this may be the issue?

I had to configure a port forward in the AirPort utility.

How do I configure AE for bridge mode? The solutions I have found so far involve another router. All I have is AE and the modem that connects to it.

Oddly enough, when I went back to Profiler after posting, it was working. Many thanks to all who posted their suggestions to help me out.

I have the same problem. I use a AE as well. So how did you fix the problem with the AE?

Hi, Rene-

I turned off the wi-fi on my iPhone, rebooted it, turned on the wi-fi and then everything worked well. It's easy to forget that the iPhone is a computer and that often rebooting will make things work again. Some days, technology = magic.

The problem was not with AE, but with the iPhone, it seems.

Now my AE is not working, so back to the Apple Store! :-)
