| Posted: | | | | The moment I saw this app I clicked the buy button. Having used the Windows version for several years to track nearly 2000 titles, I was thrilled to be able to move everything to my iPad. Unfortunately, I have found DVD Profiler of iOS to be the buggiest app I have ever purchased. It typical crashes within one or two minutes of launching. It seems to happen no matter what I am doing.
For example, when I tried refreshing profiles and images, it crashed again, and again, and again. I literally ran that function a dozen times before it finally made it through all the image updates.
Another example, I load the app (now 1.1.1), select my database (why doesn't it load it by default?), go to the collection, and start scrolling using cover flow. Bam! Blown out again, and again, and again. Similar issue scrolling up and down the collection list.
I'm really frustrated that I have yet to be able to use this app more than a couple of minutes at a time. Is it the program? My database? If the latter, can the database be repaired? How?
I want to love this app, really I do. It would be so much more convenient to be able to track DVDs on my iPad than via Windows. I want to give the app 5 stars, but at the moment I can't justify one.
Please, help me like this app by helping me get it stable on my iPad. |

| Posted: | | | | Fingers crossed. I deleted the app, reinstalled, repaired my database on PC, backed up, recovered to a blank database, synched to the iPad, and now am hoping for the best. I actually have made it past a couple of minutes finally. Did encounter the rotate-during-sync crash. Will keep you posted on any changes. |

| Posted: | | | | Short-lived success. I changed the database to local (I want to stop using Windows). It took 6 tries to successfully get through Update Database from Invelos, with the program crashing while updating images each time.
After finally getting through the update, I tried to scroll through DVDs using cover flow, crashing within a second or less. Each time I go back into the app, cover flow crashes consistently.
It seems like the Update Database from Invelos might be the culprit of all my whoas. | | | Last edited: by DVDwatchers |

Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble, the app runs flawlessly on my iPad. Crashes like this can sometimes be indicators of insufficient memory available to the app. Did you try doing a full reboot to see if that helps.
BTW: what IOS are you on? | | | Tom

| Posted: | | | | This is the only app that crashes constantly. I rarely have any other app that crashes. I just rebooted the iPad and then started DVD Profiler, nothing else. A few swipes across cover flow and BAM another crash.
iPad info: Capacity 59.2 GB, Available 47.4 GB, Version 4.2.1 (8C148). DVD Profiler: Version 1.1.1, 1936 Owned titles, no Ordered, no Wish List. |

| Posted: | | | | I would suggest submitting a technical support ticket with your issues. What you are seeing is not typical, so hopefully it can be solved.

| Posted: | | | | Do you use other categories? If so, take a backup. Then move all your movies to Owned. Delete ALL your self-made categories. Try to upload your movies to your iPad. I had a lot of problems before doing this. It all worked better when I made new categories with the new version of DVD Profiler. Looks like the new version don't like the old categories! If it don't work, restore from your backup. |

| Posted: | | | | Your not alone, mine crashes all the time as well, and I have plenty of memory left on my iPad. This program has been very unstable on my end as well. It crashes about 40% of the times during launch of the program, and it crashes about 20% of the time while using it.
I have done data base repair. I have done an uninstall reinstall. I have done full reboots. I have done all the updates.
No changes, very disappointed here in the stability issues of this program. | | | Ozzie's Home Theater |

| Posted: | | | | To both DVDwatchers and Ozzie. This sounds very familiar. I had the same problems with my iPhone 4. As written in another message, I had to move all my movies to the Owned Collection Category on the PC. Then delete all the Added Categories which I had made in another version of the DVD Profiler. When Updating the collection from my iPhone it all went smooth as silk! I could then add Categories with the new version of DVD Profiler, and no problems occured whatever I did. If you need to know the steps to move the DVDs, ask me. |
