| Posted: | | | | I have found the following Bug.
on my PC I have the following:
in a collection called Blu Ray I have all my Blu Ray films, these include the following:
Alice in Wonderland (blu Ray) Alien Anthology (Blu Ray) Alien (Blu Ray) Aliens (Blu Ray) Alien3 (Blu Ray) Alien resurrection (Blu Ray) etc (Blu Ray) Alien vs predators (requiem) (Blu Ray) Angels & Demons (Blu Ray)
The contents of this collection are included in owned.
Owned collection includes
Alice in Wonderland (blu Ray) Alien Universe (group profile) Alien Anthology (Blu Ray) Alien (Blu Ray) Aliens (Blu Ray) Alien3 (Blu Ray) Alien resurrection (Blu Ray) etc (Blu Ray) Alien vs Predator (DVD)
Alien vs predators (requiem) (Blu Ray) Angels and Demons (Blu Ray)
on the Ipod Touch (version without the camera) I have the same collections appearing.
Blu Ray / Owned
However, although the Blu Ray contains most of my blu ray films, the Alien Anthology does not appear, i.e.
Blu ray collection:
Alice in Wonderland (blu Ray) Angels & Demons (Blu Ray)
Owned collection includes
Alice in Wonderland (blu Ray) Alien Universe (group profile) Alien Anthology (Blu Ray) Alien (Blu Ray) Aliens (Blu Ray) Alien3 (Blu Ray) Alien resurrection (Blu Ray) etc (Blu Ray) Alien vs Predator (DVD)
Alien vs predators (requiem) (Blu Ray) Angels and Demons (Blu Ray)
Despite updating the collection, the Alien blu ray films only appear in the owned, not in the blu ray collection and owned.
Other blu ray films appear in both cases but another example of films not appearing in both places is my set of Bladerunner blu ray films. Again there is a group header which has all my bladerunner films | | | Paul |

I've noticed something similar with Cowboy Bebop in my collection when I put it onto my touch.
If I look in the list (sorted by collection number or name) it shows Cowboy Bebop volumes 1-4 and 6, but not 5. If I apply a filter, e.g. Cowboy Bebop then it does display all 6 volumes. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

The filter shows no entries in the blu ray collection - only in the owned collection. if I don't include the alien universe entry on the ipod then everything appears in the blu ray collection after re updating. | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | I had a similar problem when the app was released. To fix it, I just changed the way I organize on the desktop.
From what I'm reading, the problem really comes down to this: Alien Universe (group profile)
That profile contains this: Alien Anthology (Blu Ray)
The second profile belongs to your Blu-ray collection. The first doesn't. That's why it doesn't appear on your iDevice. If "Alien Anthology" wasn't a child of the other, it would appear fine. Or if you moved "Alien Universe" to your Blu-ray collection, it should work fine. But when the parent profile belongs to one collection and it's children to another, it works fine on the desktop, but not the iDevice.
Like I said, I saw this problem in the beginning and just changed the way I organize to avoid this issue. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

Like I said, I saw this problem in the beginning and just changed the way I organize to avoid this issue. and yes, I've changed the way that I have my profiles on the desktop - but that's just getting round the prob by making comprimises with the way I hold my data. The underlying problem should still be fixed. For instance in this case I have both blu ray and non blu ray versions of Alien(s) - I can have these under a single group manual profile on the desktop and the blu ray editions appear ok (both in the owned and blu ray collections). I don't want to display the non blu ray on the ipod touch so I would normally exclude all the non blu ray but leave all the rest. In this case I have to exclude the top level (which is just a manual profile) so I can see the blu ray collection. This means I don't have a group for all the Alien films on my ipod touch. I also had another issue with some films not being displayed and it seems that the transfer process just doesn't search below the top level. | | | Paul |

The underlying problem should still be fixed. I completely agree that the underlying problem should be fixed. I was fortunate that I was able to re-organize in a fashion that I'm happy with. So it's a non-issue for me. But that doesn't mean the problem should be ignored. Or the desktop version needs to be fixed to work in a more intuitive fashion. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |
