I am able to connect iPad to PC succesfully, it shows connected 1 at the bottom of the OC DVDProfiler.  However when I select "Update Collection" on the iPad it connects no problem then it "Reads database" no problem blue line scrolls smoothly from left to right.

The problem starts when it "Copying Profiles" the blue line starts and then DVD Profiler on the iPad crashes every single time.  I think it wants to sync, the line is sloowly moving, but it must time out or something.  Collection size is 1,100, and the iPhonedoes not seem to have this issue, again the transfer seems slow, but it does happen without crashing.  I have a very clean and speedy connection to the router with no microwaves or phones of any kind near it when I try to do his sync.

Try a database repair on DVDP for Windows.

Decided to install DVDProfiler on the iPhone and do an update there,NAND that went smoothly with no issues.  IPhone did a nice sync with no issues or crashes.

iPad still crashing at the same point, will do database repair and retry as suggested.

Okay, it sounds like your complete collection is on your PC. In that case you could delete the app on the iPad, install the app again and try syncing with the PC. If that doesn't solve the problem, you should probably open a support ticket with Invelos.

I did a delete and re-install of the app on my iPad and that seem to fix it.  I had to set up the network stuff again and I have two differrent databases, so I had to figure out how to load each of them back on the iPad but now they are in there.  It was slow, and it appeared that the blue transfer line stopped a few times but then it started going again.

When I load new movies should I load them on the iPad and then do the sync?

Shouldn't really matter on which device you download new profiles. I usually add profiles on my iPhone (because it's so easy to just scan the barcodes), sync with the desktop and then sync with the iPad.

Back to constant crashing of DVDFab on iPad when syncing.

I went ahead and added my kids DVD collection to the iPad, and when I try to update it to the PC it connects and show connected just as before.  It also crashes the application shortly after the Blue line in Copying Profiles starts to crawl to the right.

When I try to re-launch the application it crashes as soon as it opens, but after two or three tries it eventually stays open again.

I really do like this app, it has got to be the best looking interface, but so far I have found it to be extremely unstable.  Am I doing something wrong here?

Hard to say, what causes your problems with the app. You are not the only one experiencing problems, but for most of us it works great. Since the app crashes while copying the profiles, I guess there is something wrong with part of the profiles that a database repair can't fix.

Open a support ticket with Invelos.

Oh, one final (and probably useless) idea... if you didn't already do it, check if there is enough free space on your iPad to copy the database.

This probably happens, because the desktop program still shows the iPad as connected. If this is the case, close both DVDP for Windows and the app and then open them again.

I checked for space on iPad and I have 11GB's to spare, so space does not seem to be an issue.  I got frustrated and decided to try your suggestion once again to delete the app and reinstall.  Again this seem to work, I was able to rebuild my two databases on the first try.

I don't understand why the iPhone one appears to be so stable and I am having so much trouble with the iPad version.

Thanks for your input and sticking with me.  Hopefully they can continue to find all the bugs in the app and get them fixed.
