You may want to have a look at the MyTools plugin. See Downloads.

Unless I'm missing something, can't you set Firefox as the default browser? Any website you click should then open with Firefox.

trying to decipher your post here ... Are you talking about the 'default' web sites that are currently in the menu such as IMDB  and rotten tomatoes... ???  those sites should open in firefox IF your current browser is indeed Mozilla firefox ...  ??

That's exactly what the MyTools plugin does.

Sure... but why use something external (plugin) when the internal function also works?
If they works! ;-)

I agree. But just for clarification, plugins are internal. They are THE official way, designed and provided by Invelos, to add internal functionality to the DVDP program (I would agree if you take exception and say that HTML sections offer similar capabilities.). Invelos even uses it to deliver one or more functions that it owns. Other functions are provided by others than Invelos, but trust me, as soon as you (unfortunately) hit a bug, you will notice that plugins are very much internal. For one example, a plugin can actually change the database on the fly. HTML sections cannot. That is why developers are screened and held to a high standard. We make mistakes, but we try to earn your trust by avoiding them as much as possible.

BTW, I am not aware of any way to start a program with a parameter from DVDP without using a plugin. If I am wrong, I would appreciate it if you could come back and report your information (maybe I forgot something - DVDP has so many functions!). Thanks.
Thanks for your support.

Thanks for your explain.
I know, DVDP is a powerful tool. And i know why it is able to add plugins. ;-)
But you know this... add this plugin, and this plugin, and this... and so on. And then you have trouble or something else and you dont know why. My prefered way is: use the god/invelos given functions, and then use additional plugins. ;-)

For my first steps are the HTML Windows exactly this what i looking for. And HTML or DHTML is very powerful, too. (for visualisation)
