Hi,
after a long absence I was thinking about returning to DVD Profiler as it would be nice to have my collection on my desktop and an IPad. But unfortunately my testing was unsuccessful, DVD Profiler refuses to start at all. I try to get it running with Windows 7 HP 64bit. After installing I get the screen to test internet commection (successful) and the screen to import a collection etc. I am starting from scratch so choose to get to the main screen. The start logo screen pops up and one after the other two access violation screens.
Of course I have looked around here and found some threads, especially the one about this problem and a solution by uninstalling a emusic downloader (EDM). I have used this software, it is completely unknown to me and can't be found here. I have tried the other tips too, installing and starting with right-click "start as admin", login as admin and do the same, even trying safe mode to no avail.
I had planned to buy DVD Pro and the mobile IOS version but if the Desktop version can't be run at all I have to look for something else.
So any help is appreciated but please keep from proposing all the things already done (e. g. repairing the database or deleting and reinstalling - although I already tried - is of no sense as I started from scratch so there is no database yet, as the program couldn't be started).
I am also thankful for tips for other - working - programs similar to DVD Pro as reading around in the forums there is little hope to get DVD Pro running and even much less hope for any help or solution from Invelos. Luckily I tested before buying..

Regards

Oh you have got to be kidding.

Thousands of users have it working just fine. Now you say "don't tell me what I already know" and oh by the way "what are good competitive programs?"

I for one, wouldn't mind helping you out, but I am not psychic, so I might suggest something you already tried - and I certainly don't plan to spend any time trying to sell you on some other product.

I hope you change your mind and open up to accept any and all suggestions just in case ... I mean there must be something the rest of us are doing right.
Thanks for your support.

First of all it would be helpful to ... ah no, you probably already thought of that.

Nevermind.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
